A big lesson I learned during this past trip to Nepal is "if you are getting the same price, buy the ticket from the airline's website, not from third party or websites like Priceline/Hotwire." I had some issues and whenever I called airline to fix it, they said, "since the ticket is not from us, contact the agent" and the agent was very busy to handle my issue. It was too tedious. If you are getting a better deal from the agent, then go through them. Otherwise, get it through the airline directly.

Travel Agent को अर्थ fully अन्लाईन like , priceline, cheapoair,hotdog,momondo etc. येस्ता अन्लाईन साईट बाट टिकेट purchase गर्दा , interline contract न भएको fare पनि देखाउने ,कुन देश बाट travel गर्दा visa लाग्ने-नलाग्ने खुलस्त नहुने हुनाले ,,,, मेरो सजेसन चै १०=२० $ महँगो नै भये पनि travel एजेन्सी like www.usa2nepal.com etc. mannuel deal गर्नु हुन्छ त्यहाँ बाट टिकेट purchase गर्नु भयो भने तपाईं हरुको सबै travel issue solution हुन्छ जस्तो लाग्छ मलाई !!!

Competitive price and sometimes you also get a free hotel if you have a long transit. Depends on travel agents and price of ticket.

I used several agents 8-10 yrs back and one of them was always the best. I strongly prefer to reserve with the airline directly so that you can deal with them directly if issues arise. If you need to change the date or anything else, some nepali agents give you extremely hard time. They also charge you a lot because you do not know how much the airline is charging them. My brother used one of the agencies in Sajha's banner ad (he told me the name, but now I could not remember) for his return to Nepal via Doha. While Qatar airways normally offers hotel for 10 hrs layover, and other passengers got it, he did not qualify. Upon speaking with a higher level person, he found out that the travel agents buy special contract tickets like in an auction and they do not have all the privileges as other passengers who buy directly from the airline. He has US passport.
