Was it friend of yours or was it you who lost that little fortune? Stock market\Crypto market is like weather in the short term. It is so difficult to predict the winning stock in the short term that monkeys may beat human on stock pickings because the result is so random. That is why even most hedge fund managers can not even beat the index fund and 90% of the traders lose money. But those who do their due diligence to research the company may do well over the long term- I guess. Good luck.

you only lose it if you sell it :D ... seems like "your friend" invested without research and jumped into the bandwagon... i trade cryptos(so far i haven't lost in this bear market).. hold stock until it reaches my target value.. gamble in options ... and contribute to my 401k and index funds and don't touch that shit at all.. so far i have been positive.. not sure if this counts as success :D
