I am going to grad school this fall. My last date with h1b employer will be the end of June. Will I have enough time to apply for Change of status from within US? There is a 60 day grace period for change of status for H1b workers. I came to know that applying for change of status cannot be done 30 days before program begins. I want to go to Nepal, but there might be a risk for denial of F1 status. Alternatively, I could go to Canada and apply for change of status from Canada and come back 30 days before Masters program starts. Some of you guys must have been on the same boat. Let me know how the process went for you.
