Hi all: While leasing an apartment, I deposited some money. When I left my apartment, at that time the african american staff who inspect apartment told me every thing is alright and I handed the key. I was not smart that time to take picture of apartment, thinking they will be honest. Also she mentioned that she would send back cheque in 50 days in the mailing address I provided. Now, I moved to different places. I was waiting but they did not send any. I phoned to ask them to know what is going on. The staff started telling me the apartment was not same as I took. I tried to ask what is the problem? They said there was problem in bathtube, other stuffs. I said can you send me picture what you talking about. Then, they sent me wrong picture. I tried to communicate with the staff, they said they do not know, and forward call to district manager. I left 3 times message, but no one reply. They are not responding at all now. They did not conclude anything, even did not send me receipt of any thing if they indeed repaired. They said earlier that decision is made by them and they will not return money or their decision will not be revoked. I want to teach this bad people a lesson, but I am in another state. I sometime think about lawyer too. But, I can loose more money for lawyer fee than I get from this apartment. And, I may not able to go to that state because it is far and I do not get time if I need to get to court. Do anyone has experiences before, how to deal with such unacceptable behaviour? Thanking you, Yurika

Bro kun state me ? Just download a small court claim file (google small court claims STATE NAME), fill all the information and send it to the small court. Before sending it to the small court, send the notice to your apartment that you are going to the small court. I filed a small court claim to one of my earlier apartments and when I did- O boy- then it all made sense to them. Fight like a bull dog. Good luck bro ~

What I see is. 99 % of apartment's staffs are crooked, especially if you are not Gores\ Kales. I went through similar situations while back but I let the bank handle the claim on my behalf because luckily I had paid with my cc for the deposits and all. Atiranjeet is right. At this point landlord is stubborn and wants to keep your money, I will highly recommend you to consider filing suit in justice court. I have the steps for you: 1. Ask the landlord in writing for the property owners information. You be dealing with the boss from now on. 2. Contact the county tax assessor or google if they don't give you the owner's detail. 3. Send a demand letter, requesting your money - just give 2 weeks to respond. 4. File a suit in justice court requesting your 3 * deposit. Law says, "you are entitled to 3 * deposit if the apartment keeps it in a bad faith". Include this in the demand letter and the suit both, also include date, time, name of person, pictures, and all the efforts that you took to get your deposit back, these are very important. Good Luck Man !! Last edited: 13-Mar-17 05:10 PM

Dude Once i had file a complaint to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) www.bbb.org , and the crook ppl got back to me. you do not have to pay any money to complaint. you have to fill as many information as possible in detail in their website and BBB will contact that apartment head office for false faith.
