Dear friends, My topic of this thread is Nepali students who changed their status to TPS like me. I am concerned with all the immigration changes happening after trumps inauguration that might affect people like me as well. I was on F-1 status but my visa has expired and when applying for TPS my international office told me if I change my status to TPS it wont bother me when I will apply for my reinstatement after TPS will be over. However, with all the uncertainty I am wondering what will happen next. Even if people like me will be reinstated a lot of us will try to extend our work permit. Under trumps administration it is doubtful it will be granted. Without working I dont think I will make it through college and I dont want to be illegal either. Friends suggests to apply for asylum or marriage to an American or moving up to Canada which I dont think is I will. Well in my mind I am thinking to work as much as I can and save money and move back to Nepal if F-1 reinstatement with work permit doesnt work out. Please share your thoughts and suggestions.
