A few questions: Why were the wheel bearings replaced? (Got into accident) What is passenger side bushing? Has the coolant pump been replaced after 100k miles?
gwachaquarian · Jan 25, 2017 2:53 PM
Never ever buy a REBUILT CAR. NEVER. It will be like "Bhalu ko kaan samateko" Na phalnu na banaunu. Will give you problems forever. Better to buy a beatup " Title : CLEAN" car than a fancy looking REBUILT car.
japsRcool · Jan 25, 2017 2:55 PM
wheel bearing and hubs replaced as routine maintenance advised by the mechanic (have paperwork to show all the maintenance done on the car) passenger side bushing > component of the front drive wheels . coolant pump has not been replaced. no issue whatsoever. coolant flush was done.
logitech · Jan 25, 2017 2:56 PM
@GWACHE, the title says "REBUILT" and you are asking if it ever was in an accident ? google search "Rebuilt title" car.

Better to buy a beatup " Title : CLEAN" car than a fancy looking REBUILT car. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Depends who you buy it from. Looks like you got ripped off and had a very bad experience. I have mentioned in the post all the works done in the car and I have repair/maintenance invoices to back those up. Pictures are included as well. Serious local buyers can test drive and buy the car if they are content. I have honestly mentioned everything about the car including the title. This will be a good buy for someone looking to get another 50k miles out of the car, especially students and people who are in dire needs of an affordable car that will help them get around to earn enough money to buy a newer car. I very much disagree with you. I would much rather buy an affordable well maintained salvage car than a "clean title" car that does not run well. FYI I had another salvage car that served me well for 12 years (19 years from manufactured date) and had 205000 miles on it. Of course I did routine maintenance and took care of my car. Don't be duped by "clean title" sellers who sell "dirty cars".

I am a private seller. I bought this car as salvage title with 30k miles on it. This served me well until now and I got a new car so just trying to sell this car that I do not have any need for. Car runs smoothly, maintenance paperwork available, affordable and negotiable, so serious buyers please reach out.

But i have hard time believing that wheel bearing replacement is a routine maintenance. Wheel bearings are there for the life of car usually and don't go bad unless the car is abused. Even the cars in nepal have wheel bearings replaced in only very rare ocassions. Wheel bearings do not last for the life of the car. There is no way that wheel bearings will last 200k. Heck, even engines and transmissions do not last for the life of the car. Wheel bearings take the load of the car and they may need to be changed based on driving conditions, road conditions, terrain, miles driven on the car. Also, bearings are replaced in Nepal quite often when needed due to load factor, driving conditions and labor and parts are very cheap compared to the US. Let's stick to facts and not opinions! Asked about bushing for the following reason.. Bushing on passenger side of front wheel drive cars..do not exist.. In front wheel drive cars there are cv joints that usually need replacing after the boots tear up. And may be ball joints and tie rod joint need replacing if they start squeaking. Otherwise there is no such bushing. I do not know where you are getting your information from. You are spreading wrong information. This screenshot below shows different bushings for the Impala. According to the invoice and mechanic, "right sway link bushing" was replaced. Asked about coolant pump because they wear out and are to be replaced after usually 120k miles..Otherwise eventually they start leaking and you lose coolant..to the point that engine will start overheating. Everything in a car wears out when you use it. Even people die one day. I do not know where you are getting that 120k number from. Let's not talk about "usually" or "eventually" kind of things. Let's talk about this particular car that I am trying to sell so that I can take it off my insurance and pay for other things with that money. This particular Impala I have listed is not leaking coolant and the engine runs smoothly and fine. This will be a good starter car for students or someone who needs a car to go around. They can easily drive it for another 50k miles based on the maintenance and condition of the car. This car is not for those who can afford a new car from dealership. If you can't help, then don't hurt! If you or someone that you know are interested in buying this car, pass the message on. If you want to look and test drive, you are more than welcome but do not scare people away with generalizing things like "usually" "eventually". If you want to help, please do or else move on with your car expertise and opinions. I have listed the work done in this car so that prospective buyers know that they are getting a good value for their money and at least I am being honest!

I would not buy a salvage Impala car with 156k mileage at that price. If it does not break another 4-5 years, not a bad deal. We do not know. One gentle man bought Camry and in one year he ended paying more that he paid for it. If you are a owner with limited knowledge on car will end up paying more at garage because your trouble is their fortune. Couple times I have brought it in Sajha as humor. Seller has listed replaced and repairs done , There is no guarantee even after list of things fixed and replaced , will not break soon. I had civic and every other week i had to add oil , it's piston was bad and turned out a bad deal. If you know something about car okay to buy used car , still not old and high mileage car. Also do not go by looks, looks does not drain your wallet but engine and others will do. Have a mechanic's opinion before you pay, some are really good , just with crank and engine sound they can tell you. Last edited: 25-Jan-17 11:17 PM

I would not buy a salvage Impala car with 156k mileage at that price. If it does not break another 4-5 years, not a bad deal. We do not know. The price is negotiable. I have had the car for 7 years and from the maintenance I have done and the way I have driven, it will easily go another 50k miles. One gentle man bought Camry and in one year he ended paying more that he paid for it. If you are a owner with limited knowledge on car will end up paying more at garage because your trouble is their fortune. Couple times I have brought it in Sajha as humor. Looks like that gentleman had bad luck or got duped. Aba falana diskana ko kura garera pani bhayo ta. I know a gentleman as well who bought a salvage car and he drove it for 10 years with no problem! Seller has listed replaced and repairs done , There is no guarantee even after list of things fixed and replaced , will not break soon. I had civic and every other week i had to add oil , it's piston was bad and turned out a bad deal. Just being honest and putting information out there for prospective buyers. Manchhe ko life ko ta guarantee hudaina aba aru kura ko guarantee kaha bata hunu? Even if you bought a brand new car from dealership, your powertrain is covered and other components like belts, fluid system, ac system is not covered under that warranty. If you know something about car okay to buy used car , still not old and high mileage car. Also do not go by looks, looks does not drain your wallet but engine and others will do. Have a mechanic's opinion before you pay, some are really good , just with crank and engine sound they can tell you. Yes, don't go by just the looks but this car looks good and drives good. The only put off is that it was salvage title when I bought it but this car drives better than a lot of other clean title cars out there. This car is for students who are on limited budget or people who just need a dependable affordable car to go around until they can buy newer car in few years. This car is to enable them to get to that other level. If you have money laying around and can afford monthly payments and comprehensive insurance, by all means go buy a brand new vehicle. Nepali mentality is ,salvage=khattam and any other car besides japanese=crap!

magorkhe1 · Jan 26, 2017 2:31 PM
Majority of the people do not understand the term "salvage/rebuilt", to them salvage=khattam and that is not the case. The Lexus has clean title, it just has been in an incident/accident and the owner is selling as is with clean title. Total loss is arrived at when a vehicle’s total damage exceeds a certain percentage of the car’s value (usually around or above 75%). Laws vary by state, but after the car is tagged a total loss the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) then issues it a salvage title (in car-speak, this is known as “vehicle title branding”). This means the salvaged vehicle cannot be driven or registered in its damaged state. Rebuilding a Salvage Vehicle Once the vehicle becomes salvage, an auto shop or car hobbyist (or even the original owner) might purchase it with the intent of repairing it. The buyer must then follow stringent repair laws before the car can be inspected. If the salvaged vehicle passes inspection and meets all requirements (these vary by state), the DMV then issues it a new title. So as to protect unsuspecting buyers, the vehicle’s re-salvaged status will be clearly indicated on the title, forever branding it as a rebuilt car. The actual wording used on the title, branding the car as rebuilt, varies by state. Iowa, for example, uses the words “Prior Salvage,” while Maryland imprints the title with “Rebuilt from Salvage.” Regardless of the exact language, the words will be clearly visible, usually stamped, on the title.

Car is no longer available. It has been sold while smart folks here on sajha analyze the pros and cons of salvage title vehicle and offer their smart opinions and views.

Good for you. Hope you got your desired price. You are right. This place is full of shit ? People like me and others has enough time to analyze the pros and cons on every things that are posted here in Sajha, it is not only about your salvage car. As you know empty vessel sound more, we are jack of all master of none. You may see some one swearing and cleaning their lungs full of disgusting communicable mucus and trying to infect others ( harassment) . Hope you do not have any more to sell ? If you do please post on local Craigslist site. Long time ago I read best of the best in Craigslist it was a rants about car that was posted in Craigslist. What so great or funny if your car is sold. It must be worth of the price he/she has posted therefore it sold. But instead of deleting the ad people add Sold Sold Sold Sold. Your comment reminded me that. Last edited: 01-Feb-17 09:30 AM
