Hello Sathi haru, I am filing my 485 next month. as I was gathering my documents I realized that my Birth Registration form was registered on 2004 way past a decade later after my birth date. As I questioned my parents why it was registered late they told me that they never picked up my Birth Certificate from the VDC which got burned down during the Maoist Resurgence. Because of that they had to register again on 2004. Based on comments and articles listed by many immigration websites, I learned that I need to provide secondary evidence along with my birth registration. Some places they have listed affidavits from parents, uncle/3rd person or NAC (Non Availability of Birth Certificate) and other many different documents as such. Just wanted to ask you all my friends if you been through the same situation where your registration was way later than your birth date and the documents you submitted for your filing. If you could provide me some useful suggestion on this that will be very much helpful Thank you so much..

For my case I did the following because I had received RFE for a birth certificate. Submitted below two separate documents: 1. A letter from Madar Village Development Committee that I, Kichhu Dada, was born 1975 and so and so were my parents (this document was dated 2004). This document was in English.(If it was in Nepali, I would get an official English translation). 2. An Affidavit, in a plain letter pad, signed by my mother and father, stating that I was their son and I was born 1975. This Affidavit was notarized (i.e. a Notary Public stamped and signed that letter - which basically formalizes an Affidavit).

What are the documents we need to produce for both #1 and #2? I am in same situation (was born in Nepal in 1980) but never took the birth certificate and now we are Indian citizens with Indian passport
