Have a question and was wondering if you guys can help. Parents came here on a tourist visa and were stamped for six months of stay. Due to wife's health condition after the delivery of our baby, we asked for extension with doctor's note and were granted additional six months of stay by USCIS with a new I-94. My parents are leaving before the I-94 expiration date. In other words, they are NOT over-staying. As you may know, these days they do not give you paper I-94 at arrival but assign an electronic one. Because of the extension, my parents have been assigned a new paper I-94. My question is, do airlines collect your I-94 at the time of departure like they used to? The reason I ask is because I want to make sure their departure is known to USCIS. Or this is all done through the scan of your passport these days? My second question is, do any of you have experience with arrival back to the US after you have departed US within the time specified on I-94 after getting an extension? I am guessing all you have to present at arrival is your extension approval letter and proof(boarding pass, stamp on your passport in Nepal etc) showing you did not over stay. If you can share your knowledge/experience on this I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
