I knew an african guy from lyft and he told me that his friend can buy me a car and i gave him some amount of money and he has not brought me a car and neither he has given my money back and when i call him he always tell me that the car is with him but he never shows any proof of the car.What should i do? Should i go to the police for this situation?

why would you give your hard earned money to anyone just like that. You got scammed. lesson learned. If you just wanted a car you could have gone to any small dealership you find on craigslist or even a private seller. May be you wanted stolen car for cheap..... Now count your loss and move on.
