I've an approved H1B (but not stamped, haven't traveled since) and my PERM case is in queue for initial review by the DOL (~2-3 months due). I'm thinking of getting married in the US with this person, who has B1/B2 tourist visa. If possible, we want to have the wedding in the US, and hence I've following questions : 1) Is it wise to apply for COS (change of status) from B1/B2 to H4 providing marriage certificate while in the US? Has anyone gone through similar experience? 2) How many of you advise this route - get married in US, return to Nepal and then apply for H4 visa ? Are there any other better ways ? 3) After I140 approval, how long can one wait before submitting I485 ? I'm thinking ahead here to see if I can buy some time in between.
