Spelling Error in Passport

Hi all, I just realized that my last name has been spelled incorrectly in my MRP. Do any of you have similar experience (where you have incorrect information in your passport) and what process you went through to correct it? Also, how many weeks, months it took you go through the process. Much appreciated your input.
