Change of status from TPS to h1

I'm currently under h1b and applied for TPS. I'm planning to join a phd program in 2017 but don't want to stick with my current employer for another year. Hence, upon receiving tps, I will quit my job. Will there be a problem when I reapply for F1 status in 2017?
