California, USA December 6, 2016 Facebook has decided to share part of it's multi billion dollar revenue with it's active users. Since user activity means more opportunity for ads, facebook has issued a statement favorable to a lot of its user base. Starting January, 2017, Facebook will pay retroactively all active users who have spent over 8 hours a day in Facebook. Facebook has defined 'active' as at least 3 posts a day. According to facebook press release, users generate pageviews when they post something, which generates advertisement revenue. "We want to share with the users who have contributed to our success." Mark Zuckerberg indicated in his blog. This move has the potential to make lot of millionaires. Some kids who spent a lot of time in Facebook last year have been contacted and the news of their good fortune have been shared with their parents who welcomed the news with mixed emotions as they had been scolding their kids for staying in facebook for too long.
