job offer but position changed

I was recently offered a job position in a company and verbally accepted a offer though paper work has to be done. While negotiating the salary, I asked the mid range of the salary range for the position in the company. Then company offered the salary just few hundreds shy of the what I had asked for. But the company upgraded the position which has the minimum salary that I have been offered. Is this a some sort of trick played on me or this kind of things happen regularly? Any insight appreciated...

I have to say, the company must be nice. Or the HR team really liked you, they didn't want to get rid of the ideal Candidate. In your case, it seems like they want you anyway, to meet your negotiation they upgraded a position, which means more responsibilities for you. Its kinda like win-win situation, Good luck
