Don't know the answer to your questions, but here's some food for thought. I know a lot of Nepali who have joined the US army through MAVNI, but I have never met anyone who did it for any reason other than getting a US Greencard (and citizenship). Just let that sink in for a minute: most Nepali realize that joining the US army is an option only when no other option exist. You, on the other hand, already have a Greencard. Having said that, to each their own. Hopefully, other folks will answer your question. Good luck!

@Hydrogen Sulphide, You are a dumbf**k, why? Being an Army reserve won't stop you getting a job with your Engineering degree and earn 100k+ salary. On top of that, being an army veterans will have added benefits like discounts, priorities in jobs, respect etc. @Kilotangomike, I haven't done that but heard about it. Also, I think there are certain age restriction on the field you can choose. If you are eligible, I would suggest you to go in Navy, which I have always dreamed of.

you need citizenship to go to officer and you can't be E6, most you can be is E4 with 4years degree. My suggestion is to talk with recruiter. They will have all answer for your questions.
