Ramdev's herbal factory now in Nepal Yoga Guru Ramdev is setting up an Ayurvedic medicine and cosmetic factory in Nepal that will manufacture several herbal products. Ramdev, who will arrive in Nepal on April 23 to hold a five-day Yoga camp here, will inaugurate Nepal Gram Udyog, established at the initiative of the Patanjali Yogapeeth, on April 26. Various herbal medicines and cosmetic goods including shampoo, soap, tooth paste, hair oil will be produced in the factory at southern Nepal town Birgunj. During his five-day Yoga camp at Tundikhel Open Ground in Kathmandu, thousands of people will be provided with classes on Yoga, said Shaligram Singh, Trustee of the Patanajali Yogapeeth Nepal. Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurveda has expanded rapidly and is present in almost all categories of personal care and food products.

This isn't a news. He has been doing this for a while. Ramdev adopted the Google model. Give something valuable to the people for free to increase the customer base. They will come back to pay you directly or indirectly. Nothing wrong with that model as long as it is used for a greater good. The issue I have is the claims made by non-highly trained teachers in supplying the herbal cures. They claim they have studies done on the various subjects, but most of them hardly pass the scientific rigor and statistical proof (to prove/disprove a hypothesis) to be claimed a "cure." His biggest gift to his followers, still remain the gift of yoga.
