Definitely the embassy lost those and are trying to get away easily by saying thise may have been lost by USPS. The priblem is that u cannot do anything. But don't panic, u dont need visa to stay in US and ur visa on ur old passport would no longer be valid since the passport itself would have been invalid after u get ur new MRP. If u r on f1, ur i-20 id is ur status and if u r not h1, ur h1 acceptance is ur status. You need visa only when u want to enter US, so if u go back out of US, u have to apply for new visa in ur MRP to get back in, which u had to do anyway even if u had ur old passport. So in regard to ur stay in US, u have no problem with not having ur old passport. Nepal ma janda chahi new citizenship certificate banaunu.

In the meantime, make the noise about it. Call and write to the Ambassador. Don't settle without grieving about it. I agree with ny2's advice on not to panic because your status is intact (if you are on a non-immigrant visa) and you'd have to obtain the visa anyways when returning back from a travel abroad.

Mero ni MRP garna diyeko 6 month bho, yaha DC ma phone garchu they have no clue bhancha, Nepal ma bhujhna khojchu, yetai pathai di sake bhancha. So, careless aajha mero old passport ra nagrika DC mai cha.kati dukha diyeko...

I am also worried the same situation that I am getting ready to send my mrp application. No way in the hell I am sending those suckers my original citizenship. I will wait for 5 months if I have to instead. Looks like unless someone sues Nepali Embassy for all the crap they pull on their Nepalese customers this BS situation is not going to change. Does anyone even know what does it take to get another copy of citizenship in Nepal. If that were so easy why the hell do those suckers need us to send them the "ORIGINAL" citizenship. They should not ask for it if they know that they cannot take care of it and be responsible for the loss. Blood suckers
