You might be mistaken or you might have forgotten., Usually consultancies holds 2 weeks to 4 weeks of pay check you kicked em out but you money might still have been in hold and they might be returning that same Dinero you worked your ass off for. So first be sure you are not mistaken and if you are sure that it came for nothing than its good as a good faith to return them.

Ooasis Bro, First of all congrats on getting out of Consultancy and Finding the job by your own. Other thing I dont say all the consultancy but especially the indian consulatncy are far clever than what we think. The money that got deposited on your account must be your paycheck that was hold for 2 weeks. Generally most of the consultancy do that . In my Case I worked through consultancy till end of september and I got my last paycheck on end of November. so double check if that money owe to you or not. After that the decision is all yours.

Punter: Thanks for the suggestion. Mikal: Thanks a lot but I am not mistaken and I am sure this was not the money that they hold from my pay because I have an access to the paystub site which I use for my current employer and it even shows the new pay stub from my past consultancy. The pay period is recent and it's been almost more than 3,4 months that I left my past consultancy. PyaroSajha: Thanks for the suggestion. Like I said to mikal, this is not the money that they holded from my pay check. I know they are way clever than we think and they can go above and beyond later in order to hunt us and can make our life miserable. So I think I will wait for couple days and if I hear from them that's great but if not than I will return it back. Don't want to create an issue with these Consultancies.

E-mail them and ask if this was the last paycheck you will be getting or if they have more of your salary/pay on hold with them. Let them respond you. That way you will be certain and get a response in writing in case they later try to get to you. My consultancy used to get paid from client after 90 days of bill submission, so it is not strange to get a paycheck after 3 months. I was paid monthly (I chose this over bi-weekly) on time as long as I was with them. I left them and started full-time. I got my last month's pay after almost 3 months. Just a thought !!

Ooasis, As everyone said no desi consultancies pay for whatever they do not owe. I bet that must be your pay that you are not aware of. Any way wait until they inform you that you have been overpaid before you initiate any return. Just my thoughts :). I am in similar but opposite situation. I quit working with desi consultancy but they are not paying me my balance. On top of it they ran my payroll for the last month (I did not work for ) but never pay me. Now I have to pay tax for money that I never earned or was never paid. I emailed them to fix that but they never responded. I hope we both are employed by same employer. For some reason if you are over paid they are even lol.

I will email them so that later even if they come after me than I will have proof saying that I contacted them after I received the money. long_horn: Yes, you're right. Like everyone says, no desi consultancies, in fact not only desi even nepali consultancies do not pay for what they do not owe. As they say, esp when it comes to money no one is your friend. So I am still furious about this. I still haven't got chance to go back to my pay stub and look for all the dates, which I will do soon and will decide. I feel bad for what your employer did to you. I hope we had a same employer too. But please don't come after me asking for your pay check hai :P hehe, just kidding .
