Has anyone read this short stories collection: The Gurkha's Daughter? It got translated into Nepali too re hai. Maile suneko. It captures the daily routine of parents (in Nepal) whose kids are abroad. Yo pani suneko hai. It would be great if anyone here have already read the book.
