ne0 bro, they each paid $8.33 + $8.33 + $8.34 = $25 They got 1 each back = $3 so they paid $9.33 + $9.33 + $9.34 = $28 so the remaining $30 - $28 = $2 is with the boy. This could be explained in much more elegant way, I guess. :)

the 2 dollar paid to the kid is already included in the $27 so we cannot add it again. so 27+3 = 30.. Good question though..

Ok lets not make it complicated. The $2, is the $27-$25, that the boy kept. I can't put more elegantly than this.
