you can try if there are any hostel. I believe those hostel requires passport so take yours. Search for international hostel in new york in google.com

Woodside Motor Inn 65-09 Queens Boulevard Queens 11377 Try this out. There is a nepali brother working in that hotel. I paid the full price in the evening and he showed up at night. He mentioned that if he was there , he would have done 50% cheaper. I paid 200 for two nights. It was 5 months back though. He works at night so you might wanna call at night and ask if there is any nepali working in that inn. Good luck.

What did you choose at the end? I already bought tickets for my husband and me and we are flying to NYC in August. We used http://new-york.hotelscheap.or... find hotels and I can only recommend them, we chose the W hotel. It isn't very cheap, but I've stayed at the W hotel in LA and the service was excellent.
