Joined as a permanent employee in IT company as a software development, 3 months back. During the period of recruitment, I have been told company will file GC for me, which this company normally does for qualified candidates. I have master's degree in Computer science from USA. Recently, I requested for initiating GC, Company attorneys asked for master's degree certificate which I scanned and sent over. Company attorneys said he will file PERM for GC(first step of GC as per my understanding) by the end of this week(on Saturday) I asked him what documents I have to send to him. His response, no need to send any documents. asked him twice..same answer. Wondering, don't we need recent pay stubs and other documents for Perm filing. The same company holds my h1b. Any relevant suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Not at this point. First they need to file Labor....advertisement in newspaper.....has to prove there is no US citizen candidate to fill the position....stuffs like that....once done will begin the further process then at that time you will need all the documents that you have gathered so far......but it is good to get prepared :)

For labor u won't need any thing any way, let him file and chill out for 6/7 month, just make sure labor is EB2.

thanks! meraj for the information. my company's attorney knows I am from Nepal and I have requested him to go with EB2. I assume he will file under EB2. Is there any way we can know it's being filed under EB2 or EB3? I wish i can confirm this with my attorney. But at the moment he is super busy. Just don't want to mess up things bothering him. So asking for Nepali bro and pro
