Usually up to a year however if they are traveling out of US for more than six months, I usually recommend my clients to file the reentry permit. Just because it allows you to be out of states for until two years. Once you are in Nepal sometimes plan might change due to various reason and if your stay is extended you will be safe with reentry permit.
