I'm choosing some community bank stocks for 2014. I made some profit from community banks in 2013..not as much as I wanted but shit happens..however, 2014 will still be bright for these community banks..Here's some that I like...all are trading under 50 percent of book value..MFBP - Recent insider buying..book value is more than 10 dollarsCZBSUBABACBCThe good things about these banks..they took TAPR loan from treasury. But they only pay 2%. Why? Just like you get green card by opening a business in an unconventional location..these banks did the same thing..they serve the unconventional location..There were thousands of banks that took TARP money in 2009/10...some of the biggest banks like JPMorgan & Citi and others were forced to take TARP whether they needed it or not but nearly all small banks needed it and took the TARP money. Had many of these banks not taken TARP there was a very high likelihood they would be shut down due to critically low capital ratios. Banks must maintain certain capital ratios that were put into practice after the great depression in 1929. This was done to calm the fears of the general public and to stop them from panicking and starting a "run on the bank". Prior to 1929 those capital ratios didn't exist. The terms of the TARP loans meant that any bank taking TARP would issue the US Treasury prefered shares. The interest rate ( or dividend) on the preferred shares was 5% for the first five years to be paid quarterly and after that the interest rate would climb to 9%. The rules were that those dividends could be deferred but we're cummulative ..meaning the missed dividend payments would hust add up until 100% paid. A bank wouldn't be forced to pay the dividends each quarter but if they were financially healthy enough it was expected that they would. Most banks that owed the TARP came up with a capital raising plan (usually with accredited outside 3rd party investors) which allowed the bank a way to pay back the US Treasury the entire sum in one payment. The US Treasury offered another form of TARP to a select group of community banks that qualified as "CDCI" banks. For CDCI banks the terms were very different..instead of 5% for 5 years CDCI banks got funds for 2% interest for 8 years. MFBP and ACBC are 2 of those CDCI banks. This type of TARP loan changes things as far as investors like us should be concerned. For banks that still owe the traditional 5% TARP I have huge concerns about investing in them because I know their TARP will soon go to 9% and that's a very expensive loan which will eat into mh profits. However a bank that only owes 2% interest and they still have 3 years until that cheap loan goes away I don't have that problem.

@lopchandai...glad you made 8% profit from DRAD. I'd feel bad for myself if you lost money on the stock that I mentioned. I've seen that you (lopchandia) and some others (i485) and others have made good calls on some stocks. Very happy for your picks. I never bought what you guys bought..because my mind is limited to understanding stuffs. And that is okay. So, I recommend nobody to buy either PEIX or TEXC or whatever other stocks that I've mentioned so far. Do your own research. Buying stock is no different than you opening a grocery store. If you are opening a grocery store, you always want to be in the right spot etc..so, it's no fluke. Companies that have their "cashiers busy" will only make their shareholders happy. Sexy stocks is no more than playing "musical chair" game. To anyone who is new and want to learn about the stock market..my best recommendation is..go to the school/public library and there are tons of books. There are youtube videos on "value investing"..including the audio of "intelligent investor" by Ben Graham. Here's the link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... I know that telling you all new people to go read and learn about investing before you invest is comparable to telling a fat person to go do exercise and control their diet, if they want to lose weight. Happy days ahead..but I'm out. I don't want to post any stocks here out of excitement anymore and be wrong and get blamed. Do your own research. Good luck to all. I'm out and will not be posting anymore.

So glad to see PEIX result.

TEXC---Results out within few weeks. Patiently waiting.

beautifool · Mar 5, 2014 7:03 PM

TEXC - Volume up along with stock price in the anticipation of good results within 2 weeks. Annual report is coming and more profits to be booked. Already 46% up since I bought it 3 months ago. Expecting the stock to move much much higher in the coming months. Currently at 26 cents, bought it around 17.5 cents. This stock should hit 50 cents anytime in the next few months.

PEIX story is not over yet. It is going to touch 30. I bought it around 7..today it is 16..here's my prior post. In fact..Ethanol price has gone so much up...PEIX is simply PRINTING MONEY! How good a feeling when things go as you expect! Happiness has no limit! "But with PEIX, I'm optimistic that this will be a 30 dollar stock..if commodity market stays as it is. Corn price needs to be checked on a regular basis. The more the price of corn go up, bad for PEIX and vice versa." All is good in the PEIX neighborhood

beautifool · Mar 25, 2014 10:44 PM

And if it goes the way it is going.. I won't be surprised if PEIX touches 50 or 70.. If it touches 70. by the end of the year.and I bought for 7 bucks..that'd be my 10 bagger and my zipcode changer

beautifool · Mar 25, 2014 10:57 PM

but, but and but..PEIX is a commodity stock..and anything can happen in the commodity market. and that is why there is saying that commodity market is fortune maker for some but widow maker for most. So ya'll gotta be careful! I'm and I'll be the first one to cash out..if anything bad happens with either Ethanol price per gallon or corn price per bussel. So easy to understand the business. Just check ethanol price and corn price..and play accordingly..but so far..PEIX has become Julam Trial to now Bassa Trail

Momentum Divergence is building in yr stock. Be more careful here, mr. beautifool !!

funny guy !!! Good Luck !!!

OBAMA · Mar 25, 2014 11:21 PM

I don't buy any stocks that are shared here by anyone... “The single most important decision in evaluating a business is pricing power,” Buffett. Looking forward to find pricing powerhouse stocks

beautifool · Mar 25, 2014 11:23 PM

Also added 10 thousand more TEXC this week for 23 cents. I feel like slapping myself when I did not buy more TEXC when it was available for 18 cents. My MBA Finance/CPA friend whom I mentioned this company..loaded a lot..because he said..he audits a similar private company in Texas and says the private company is making a lot of money. And he bought TEXC for 18 cents 10 days ago.. I am not a finance expert but I know few of them. I just try to figure where a Certain industry is heading. TEXC is going to pay all of my 2014 bills plus vacation while PEIX is going to change my zip code

beautifool · Mar 25, 2014 11:46 PM

Ok..may not 10 days..but 15 or 20 days..When I mentioned here..it was 17 cents..and some ignorant fools tried to bitch slap me ..and glad that those ignorant emotional fools decided to give up fairly quickly. I don't go and post stupid comments on anyone posts. At least..that is what I think..If you don't have the habit of reading books..don't even consider commenting on my posts..coz' I'll bitch slap you..as soon as I find that your message is ignorant ..filled with nonsense..however..will take every positive/negative comments..but..your comments must be factual. Good night ya'll..time to sleep.
