Can there be meaning without GOD?

If there is no GOD, then man and the universe are doomed. Like prisoners condemned to death, we await our unavoidable execution. There is no GOD, and there is no immortality! And what is the consequence of this? It means that life itself is absurd. It means that the life we have is without ultimate significance, value, or purpose.

Nepaliguy your writing shows that you have very little self confidence and belief in yourself. You are weak that is why you constantly need to feel connected to a bigger cause whether it exists or not. Do you think animals and insects have a meaning for life? How about millions of microscopic organisms? Do you think they all have a meaning? Do you think god selected you personally to live on this planet or was it a sheer coincidence of your parents union that created you? Religion and god is for the weak who cannot accept their day to day reality so they need a support structure to give them a meaning. You are just another animal who has become civilized. Before civilization man was just another animal in the jungle. Some animals have small brains some have bigger brains. We have bigger brains in order to adapt to our environment and at this point we are in control of a lot of things, but we forget that the universe is our home and we are constantly in a race to see who can create more weapons to destroy the earth. All other animals learn to live harmoniously with the environment. The universe itself is GOD. We are all part of the universe.

Atheism is a crutch for those who cannot bear the reality of God.

Somebody so powerful, so omnipresent doesn't need to be validated again and again by us meeks. Even if we go with the theory of the superbeing, why don't we just continue doing what he sent us to do that is do our shit than constantly tell others what to do? You worship God, great, keep doing that. Shiva_linga here doesn't want to, leave him alone. By posting in multiple threads with same rhetorics, you are only pissing more people off.

i dont need one, i don't believe in one. If it makes you happy in believing that one exists and provides guidance in life then good for you i have no qualm against it.

Well i that case what i can say my brother from another mother :) God is one, we humans multiplied it. We (human beings) can not create a fly but we can create God by dozens. Happy Friday. Happy searching...

paulsmith · Nov 22, 2013 7:15 AM

Paulsmith you said "An atheist is a man who believes himself an accident. Wow !!!" Do you really think your birth on this planet was not an accident? Did you think it was not a fluke that during one of the times of your parental bliss you were conceived? Do you really believe everything was meant to happen?  As a human being you have the choice to do things. Right now you have the choice of replying, or waiting till later to reply or not replying. You can choose any one of the options and the choice you make was not meant to happen but you made it happen due to the coincidence of you and I coming to this site and starting to type our thoughts. Everything that happens is governed by one's own will in collaboration with the chances that govern when multiple things occupy the same space. When you drive to work, you pass along many people, sometimes due to coincidence it might give opportunity for you to talk to someone, which could lead to more things and before you know it you might even get married get kids etc etc. So one fluid accident gives rise to many future possibilities. Only the weak of mind need to believe in god to provide them with support because they are too weak to admit that some stupid chance governs every step of their life. You feel lost so you want to find a way out. I don't feel lost nor need to find support in anything because I am complete on my own, as part of the universe which is the real higher power that you so want to personify into something more than it is. The universe is god, it gives birth to chances and possibilities.

rethink · Nov 22, 2013 8:12 AM

Paul Smith,"God is one, we humans multiplied it. We (human beings) can not create a fly but we can create God by dozens."  lol !! We multiplied it ? Really ?  How ? God x 1= 1 god     God x 2= 2gods ? lol !! Yup we humans cannot create a fly, but your daddy and mommy created you. lol !!

nepaliguy... what we do in academia is divulge less on speculations and more on topics that are determined to be true through extensive study. I believe countless experiments and studies have been conducted to prove the existence of god and if u can provide us a single proof.. that will be an step towards making us question if meaning without god is possible.. until then.. yes meaning without god is possible and each of us are all living it every single day..

n3c3ssary3vil · Nov 22, 2013 1:34 PM

God is merely a word. Usually when people say "God," they usually mean some entity living somewhere high in space and controlling all the natural phenomenon and activities of humans. The word God should be taken very cautiously. The word God is used by science in very different way. Scientist call it 'unified field of total natural law,' philosopher call it 'reality or truth,' psychologist call it 'consciousness' etc. Most people have extreme problem with the word God. In sajha, I am not going to debate about whether God exists or not because this is the field of no-mind where reason and logic doesn't apply. Direct intuitive knowledge is required to understand the subtlety of this universe. The unified field of total natural law is beyond words.

ujl · Nov 22, 2013 2:15 PM

@ujl :"Unified field of total natural law" seems more like a pseudo-science than an actual scientific reference, similar to "Creation Museum" claiming that man and dinosaurs walking the earth is a scientific fact.

n3c3ssary3vil · Nov 22, 2013 2:52 PM

I know my atheist friends believe there is no God. I believe there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. So we agree 50% atleast.  Let me share this story:  Imam Abu Hanifa (may God have mercy on him)  was asked by an atheist: “What is the evidence pointing to the existence of Allah?” and he replied, “Forget it! At the moment, I am busy thinking about this ship. People tell me there is a big ship, it contains different goods on board. There is no one to steer it, no one maintaining it. Yet, this ship keeps going back and forth; it even traverses big waves on the oceans; it stops at the locations that it is supposed to stop at; it continues in the direction that it is supposed to head. This ship has no captain and no one planning its trips.” The atheist who posed the question interrupted and exclaimed, “What kind of strange and silly thought is this? How can any intelligent person think that some thing like this can occur?” Abu Hanifa said, “I feel sorry about your state! You can not imagine one ship running without someone looking after its affairs; yet you think that for this whole world, which runs exactly and precisely, there is no one who looks after it, and no one owns it.” Let's talk about the Big Bang theory. It is the latest position reached by science on the formation and beginning of the Universe. I will let Al-Qur'an speak about it: 30. Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity (were joined together as one united piece), and We separated/parted them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe (and realize that there is a Creator)? 31. And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift/sway/shake with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads/paths that they might be guided (to their destinations during travel). 32. And We made the sky a protected/guarded roof/ceiling, but they, from its signs (i.e. sun, moon, winds, clouds, etc.), are turning away (failing to reflect on them and thus realise that the Creator of such things can have no partner). 33. And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming/floating (in the space). 34. And We did not grant to any man before you [O Muhammad] eternity/immortality [on earth]; so if you die - would they be eternal/immortal? 35. Every soul/self (person) will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned. [Al- Qur'an 21:30-35] "O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you (i.e. Adam) from dust, then from a sperm-drop (mixed drops of male and female sexual discharge i.e. offspring of Adam), then from a clinging clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it water (rain), it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind." [Al-Qur'an 22:5] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... Who could have said these things 1400 hundred years ago? Creator of the universe correct? Last edited: 22-Nov-13 03:08 PM

Uji,"In sajha, I am not going to debate about whether God exists or not because this is the field of no-mind where reason and logic doesn't apply." Amen !! Uji,"The word God is used by science in very different way. Scientist call it 'unified field of total natural law,' philosopher call it 'reality or truth,' psychologist call it 'consciousness' etc." Potatoes Potaatoes Its all the same. If all of them saw IT at the same time then there would be a unified agreement on who IT is. Since nobody has seen, heard, felt, taste, or experienced IT therefore the variations.

BathroomCoffee · Nov 22, 2013 3:12 PM

@paulsmith: Someone who was entirely wrong about how the earth, moon and sun was created... what's your thought process when you decide to believe in a book that's centuries old, with baseless claims while you decide to overlook all the scientific research that actually provides you reasons as to why and how certain things came to be?

n3c3ssary3vil · Nov 22, 2013 3:21 PM

Apply your own common sense whether 'unified field of total natural law' is pure science or pseudo-science. Even in physical level of existence you will get nothing but unity of everything. Here is an example: Consider your body. What is your body made up of? Various organs. What are various organs made up of? Tissue. What are tissue made up of? Cell. Cell is the fundamental structure of every living entity here on this planet. Do you want to go more deeper than cell? You can go. You will get nothing but "UNITY." Even in mental level, the mind stuff of every living entity is made up of same thing. You can further go deep by analyzing Einstein Theory of Energy, E = MC^2. From this equation you can calculate Mass, M = E/C^2. Whatever the mass is, it is nothing but energy. Cell, in fact, if you go deeper then you will find it is merely a vibration. Einstein Theory of Relativity also explains that this world is merely a phenomenon. Motion exist by virtue of other objects which are at rest! Therefore, unified field of total natural law is that field from which all diversity appears.

Hey Paulsmith, you a muslim or terrorist clarify first????

giordano · Nov 22, 2013 6:28 PM

Creation of Universe by god was also reveled to Jews and too Christians. Muslims agree that Christ was also prophet why god had to reveal different version to Christians and Jews ? Why god needed to reveal different version of creation to different group of ppl? This also proves that there is no god and once again according to you Koran and Ved agree on one god but they envisage  different way of creation of the universe. Problem with Koran is Mohammad tried to compiled  what he thought was best of every religion and tried to present in very simplified way that is why Muslims are very confused. It is not your problem my friend, It is the problem of Koran Koran has bit from Hinduism, bit from Judaism  and bit from Bible that is why Islam is very easily manipulated. Hindu way of manipulating religion applies to Koran because it contains bit of Hinduism, Jews way of manipulation also works for Koran because it contains bit of Judaism. Christian way of manipulating religion also works for Koran because it contains bit from Bible. That is why in each and every Islamic society Islam has been misused by cunning ppl.  Muslims said Mohammad is the last teacher that means god have revealed his godly action to prior prophets too. One god would not reveal different version of one action. By accepting the existence of prophets before him Mohammad was trying to avoid direct confrontation with  existing practice of that time. at the meantime he was cleaver too.  Even present day if you want to defame someone clever ppl start with saying " He is good, actually I like him but because of this and this a bit problematic" Mohammad was saying same thing there were prophets before me too but they have changed a lot that why you should follow my version. He was a "Pakka Byapari". If you want to buy a TV, if you go to Toshiba Brand they will say "yeah there re different brand but Toshiba TV has such and such advantage that's why  its good TV. By saying there were Prophets before me but because of so and so My brand of religion is the best. The guy was just trying to sale his product. Once you sell product you will make profit. Look at Khomeini of Iran. There is no such provision of Supreme leader Khomeini in Islam But the Khomeini was a clever guy , he was able to sell his brand, He enjoyed his life in Iran and his follower are enjoying life in Iran. If you question  this profitable business they will attack you, that's all in the name of God. In the name of God because he does not exists, he is not coming to refute your claim.  Have you seen ppl using scarecrow to keep birds away from the field? Yes  my friend, Cunning ppl have used scarecrow(god) to keep away innocent ppl out of their money making business. Poor birds really think that there is a human in the field and do not approach. And we know the reality. exactly the same way clever ppl have created god to be used as a scarecrow  against innocent ppl. Different between you and me is you believe scarecrow is real I don't.

Our God is Krishna.. not allah.. sorry bro we dont like you and your religion. You should move to Iraq or Afghanistan if you do not like it here in the USA. I am sure you are find muslims all over there so that you dont have to preach everyone.

madtech · Nov 22, 2013 9:01 PM

In my personal opinion as a student of science, I would say that saying god exist and he created and all that crap only underestimates the power of mother nature-the only one whose existence is unarguable. I am not an atheist though. I dont like to be narrow minded in things I am not sure of. I think Im more interesting that those commusnist punks and libertarian(bill maher) who pride themselves in being atheist. Can there be a meaning without god? thats your qs.Now, feynmann's view on god: "I can live with doubt and uncertainty and not knowing. I think its more interesting to live with doubt and not knowing than to have answers which are wrong. I have aproximate answers and possible beliefs and different degrees of certainty about different things but Iam not absolutely sure of anything and in many things I dont know anything about such as if it means anything to ask why we are here and what the question might mean. I dont have to know an answer. I dont feel frightened by not knowing anything by being lost in this mysterious universe without having any purpose- which is the way it really is."

alto · Nov 22, 2013 9:57 PM

Madtech: Well there are born Muslims in Nepal. What do you say about that? Also, i assume you were not born here, may not a US citizen yet too, how to you refute that? Mind you, this whole earth belongs to God and i can live whereever i want. Also, refuting your argument, US is not a Hindu country to begin with. Actually, US was supporting Pakistan on cold war and also, Afghanistan to fight with Russians. If you do not know the history, Muslims came to this country on the first ship. Well please read US history and you will understand. I would not debate with you regarding who is God as you will know better if you read Vedas. I can give you website if you would like to read it. Read 11:43 of Bhagavad Gita and you will know better. Anyways brother, may peace be with you.

paulsmith · Nov 23, 2013 3:14 PM

Alto: May i ask you, you are agnostic than? I would also like to ask you, what if you find out there is God after you dead? What would you do than? I think on the safeside, it would be better to believe in God and die. Btw i am not asking any donations for making you believe in God. As a selfless advice, i think it would be better for you to believe in One God and die. For a believer, it's a win-win situation, if he dies and let's say for the sake of argument, he did not meet God. Than it's okay, he did what he could correct? He lived his life righteously, he did not cheat anyone, or stayed away from adultery. He helped what he could to others. If there is God, he dies. He meets God. He succeeded. Correct? No more work, no more ill-talks. He will be served best of the wines, best of the steaks. He does not have to work. It will be a vacation for eternity.  Also, In Islam, we believe, the best thing would be to see the face of our Creator. The biggest deprivation for the people of hellfire is they will not be able to see their Creator.   Anyways, happy searching. "And you search for the truth, and the truth shall make you free." [The Bible, John 8:32]

paulsmith · Nov 23, 2013 3:42 PM

@Paulsmith, If you believe in God keep it to yourself...there are atheist too that doesn't believe in God. You can't force them to believe in God. Respect their freedom too so stop preaching here. Bible, Quran or Gita they are all written by humans and not god. For me, I believe more in KARMA than DHARMA.  Can you give me one example that GOD exist?

giordano · Nov 23, 2013 9:12 PM

The distinction between the world and its Lord is verbal and false. In the indivisible, infinite consciousness, no such distinction is meaningful. On account of the illusory notions of time and space, somewhere at some time gold appears to have become a bracelet; even so does the notion of a creation arise in consciousness. When thus even duality is non-existent, investigation into the causal relationship between the creator and this creation becomes meaningless. An imaginary city is imagination, not a city. This world-appearance is appearance, not the world. (SOURCE: Yoga Vasistha) Last edited: 24-Nov-13 07:48 PM

Glordano: Disbelief in God does not result in a belief in nothing; disbelief in God usually results in a belief in anything. If I ask most of the atheists why they are an atheist they will proceed to explain their religion of non belief. Uji: I would appreciate if you can tell me what you are saying. http://www.venkatesaya.com/242...  Let's not throw words without any meaning. Red herring is not the way to go. Let me make myself clear: Atheism means there is no God. Religion means believe in God. Some may call Bhagwan, some may call God and some may say Allah. Religious people have a diety. Atheism is not an implausible worldview and that therefore the poverty of atheist argumentation cannot be written off to the bankruptcy of atheism itself. In my experience it seems rather to be due to simple ignorance of the literature. Rather than being angry with those who ridicule me, I need to consider the source and feel compassion for lost souls. I'm reminded of a saying I once heard:  "I could no more be angry with him than if a blind man had stepped on my foot." "It is true, that a little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion." [Francis Bacon]

Paulsmith, I just read one of your above posting and I am laughing out loud. Believe in God because I should be scared of God? I will be in safe side if I believe in GOD? Best wine and steaks are served for me If I believe in GOD (But I am a vegetarian and I don't drink alcohol. Sorry, I have to reject God's offer). Here is what you said which made me laugh: For a believer, it's a win-win situation, if he dies and let's say for the sake of argument, he did not meet God. Than it's okay, he did what he could correct? He lived his life righteously, he did not cheat anyone, or stayed away from adultery. He helped what he could to others. If there is God, he dies. ujl · Nov 24, 2013 8:46 PM

Uji: I am glad you put the source. I could not understand what you were trying to say that is why i had to google it up so i had to post the link above. Anyways, having said that, i am not trying to prove anything. I am just trying to humbly request my brothers and sisters to keep mind open. A human mind works best when it's open same like a parachute. Let me tell you what i believe: I believe there is only one God. He does not have son, daughter or wife. He was not born from anyone and did not give brth to anyone. He is eternal and unique. He is none like His creation. There was nothing before Him. He created everything. Islam teaches that people should completely submit only to God as He is the only One worthy of their worship. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it belongs to Him. The Quran points out the faulty thinking of those who worship other than God: “‘How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?’” [Al-Qur'an 37:95-96] Why did i choose Islam not the other way of life?   In Islam, we believe God does not take birth to become human being. Rather we believe, he sends his message through human messengers. In Eastern concept, we say Rishis, Munis. In Western concept we say: Prophets, Messengers. In Islam, we believe God sent His message to all the communities. So some scholars say: Ram, Krishna might have been prophets too. We can not pin point for sure as only 29 prophet's name are mentioned in the Qur'an. Islam is not a new way of life; rather, it is the final message, which upholds the same essential beliefs that God sent to humanity through all of His messengers. Through this message, God calls on each individual to lead a conscientious life by drawing close to Him and to remain cognizant of their final accountability in front of the one and only God. “Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of God and what has come down of the truth?” [Al-Qur'an 57:16] Correction to other friends, i am not trying to confuse anyone. Sorry if i confused anyone. Yes, i am a convert to Islam from Hinduism. I have had 8 years of spiritual journey towards my Creator. During this journey, i read Bhagavad Gita cover to cover, some Upanishads cover to cover, the Bible cover to cover: many times and the Qur'an: cover to cover many times. I have has opportunity to visit temples many times, Monastry one time, different denomination churchs, Synagogue, Bahai center and different Mosques. I know almost 8 Nepalese that are converts to Islam living in the U.S. All of our journey were different. I still remember telling my conversion story to a Nepali brother who was struggling in his university and was searching for the truth and was open to different ideas. He accepted Islam on the spot. I even asked him, are you sure you want to live your life as a Muslim? He replied to me: "Yes brother, i do not care what others say; i like what you said." It took me years to convert because i come from kind of religious background. Thanks to God, I was in America. What would have happened to civilization, if all the discoveries were kept within themselves? We would not have progressed what we have. Humanity has progressed so much in last 100 years. That's good but in terms of religion we have not progressed much. Majority of people are still worshipping what their ancestors are following. Satan is telling us, progress in this life. If you have i-phone 4 than get an i-phone5, no problem. But interms of religion, keep on following what your ancestors were following. It's very sad but it's true that we are not using our intellect to search the truth but rather we are just concerned in this life. Let's use our logic: "Can the stone carved from our hands be divine?" Can the cross made out of factory or probably labelled with sticker: "made in China"; really divine? Please ponder upon what i am saying. If i bored you or offended you please forgive me.

I found this article written by Tim Wise, very interesting: White Man's Privilege:  White privilege is knowing that even if the Boston Marathon bomber turns out to be white, his or her identity will not result in white folks generally being singled out for suspicion by law enforcement, or the TSA, or the FBI.White privilege is knowing that even if the bomber turns out to be white, no one will call for whites to be profiled as terrorists as a result, subjected to special screening, or threatened with deportation. White privilege is knowing that if the bomber turns out to be white, he or she will be viewed as an exception to an otherwise non-white rule, an aberration, an anomaly, and that he or she will be able to join the ranks of Tim McVeigh and Terry Nichols and Ted Kaczynski and Eric Rudolph and Joe Stack and George Metesky and Byron De La Beckwith and Bobby Frank Cherry and Thomas Blanton and Herman Frank Cash and Robert Chambliss and James von Brunn and Robert Mathews and David_Lane and Michael F. Griffin and Paul Hill and John Salvi and James Kopp and Luke Helder and James David Adkisson and Scott Roeder and Shelley Shannon and Wade Michael Page and Byron Williams and Kevin Harpham and William Krar and Judith Bruey and Edward Feltus and Raymond Kirk Dillard and Adam Lynn Cunningham and Bonnell Hughes and Randall Garrett Cole and James Ray McElroy and Michael Gorbey and Daniel Cowart and Paul Schlesselman and Frederick Thomas and Paul Ross Evans and Matt Goldsby and Jimmy Simmons and Kathy Simmons and Kaye Wiggins and Patricia Hughes and Jeremy Dunahoe and David McMenemy and Bobby Joe Rogers and Francis Grady and Demetrius Van Crocker and Floyd Raymond Looker, among the pantheon of white people who engage in politically motivated violence meant to terrorize and kill, but whose actions result in the assumption of absolutely nothing about white people generally, or white Christians in particular. And white privilege is being able to know nothing about the crimes committed by most of the terrorists listed above — indeed, never to have so much as heard most of their names — let alone to make assumptions about the role that their racial or ethnic identity may have played in their crimes. White privilege is knowing that if the Boston bomber turns out to be white, we will not be asked to denounce him or her, so as to prove our own loyalties to the common national good. It is knowing that the next time a cop sees one of us standing on the sidewalk cheering on runners in a marathon, that cop will say exactly nothing to us as a result. White privilege is knowing that if you are a white student from Nebraska — as opposed to, say, a student from Saudi Arabia — that no one, and I mean no one would think it important to detain and question you in the wake of a bombing such as the one at the Boston Marathon. And white privilege is knowing that if this bomber turns out to be white, the United States government will not bomb whatever corn field or mountain town or stale suburb from which said bomber came, just to ensure that others like him or her don’t get any ideas. And if he turns out to be a member of the Irish Republican Army we won’t bomb Dublin. And if he’s an Italian American Catholic we won’t bomb the Vatican. In short, white privilege is the thing that allows you (if you’re white) — and me — to view tragic events like this as merely horrific, and from the perspective of pure and innocent victims, rather than having to wonder, and to look over one’s shoulder, and to ask even if only in hushed tones, whether those we pass on the street might think that somehow we were involved. - Tim Wise

Paulsmith, a wise person will have no intention to come here in Sajha and blab about God. Peace be upon you. (FYI: You are still in mental level!)

Hey guys, my TV remote has been missing for a while. Do you know where can I find it?

Altijdgoede · Nov 25, 2013 12:23 PM

So the point above is, from what you are discussing, you guys are lost like stupid TV remote that is not even worth looking for. Don't take it personally, but this is how blshllit you are spending your energy on. Stop crying now..and don't fill sajha thread anymore.

Altijdgoede · Nov 25, 2013 12:27 PM

Altijdgoede: What should be our posts and threads than? Like this:1.  " Oh yaar i met a chawk keti"                2. "Yaar Prachanda le ke garchha hola?"                3.  "Euta keti ko khojima?" No offense taken. I would like to ask you andUji: the same questions i asked my friends in Sajha: Can there be meaning in Life without God? If there is no GOD, then man and the universe are doomed. Like prisoners condemned to death, we await our unavoidable execution. There is no GOD, and there is no immortality! And what is the consequence of this? It means that life itself is absurd. It means that the life we have is without ultimate significance, value, or purpose. No one has refuted my original statement. People like madtech have just come and tried to take this blog some where. Let me repeat this again, we are not debating "Which religion anyone should follow?" We are debating does God exists? If you going to say he does not than what are your refutations. It is a dialogue between those who have a diety and who does not. I hope myself clear.

nepaliguy1982 · Nov 25, 2013 12:55 PM

Nepaliguy what is the meaning in life for a fly, an ant, a mosquito, a cat, a dog? Or do you think only human's are special and they need to have a meaning in life. I am just trying to understand your philosophy.

rethink · Nov 25, 2013 1:25 PM

Rethink: All the creation have purpose. All the creation except human being and Jinns worship the Creator. Human beings and Jinns have free will. We have choice either to obey Him or disobey Him. This free will comes with a price. Either paradise or hell. Our main purpose of our life is to identify our creator and worship Him alone. God says in Qur'an, He created human beings and Jinns to worship Him.Before human beings were created. Angels were already there to worship Him 24/7. Angels do not have free will. God created us and gave us free will. We have capacity to be better than angels or also degrade ourselves to be worst than animals too. So choice is all ours. Prophet Muhmmad (upon whom be peace) also said: A woman will enter paradise because she gave water to a thirsty dog and a woman will enter hellfire because she locked her cat and did not let it go and get food and she did not provided the food for the cat either and eventually the cat died. The animals will not go through heaven and hell but there will justice for them also: "On the Resurrection Day, the rights will be paid to those to whom they are due so much so that a hornless sheep will be retaliated for by punishing the horned sheep which broke its horns". [Muslim]

nepaliguy1982 · Nov 25, 2013 3:06 PM

Let me get this straight. Our purpose in life is to worship god. God created us so we can worship him. And if we do not worship him, he will punish us. Am I right so far?

Shiva: your questions were already answered on the other thread i think. Glordano: I understand you are follower of science. More knowledge of science only made me believer in God. Things are created so beautifully. I know in science you say big-bang. Where did that big-bang come from?

newguyintown · Nov 25, 2013 8:34 PM

Here are your answers: Shiva brother: May peace be with you! Thank you for taking time to raise questions. Appreciate your time. Sorry for the delay in answering it. 1)what do u say about the way that mohamad dude handled a 6 yrs old aiesha after marrying her? My grand-mother married my grand father when she was 9 and it was not 1400 hundred years ago :). Back in those days, that was the culture. That was the culture of the Arabs. Muhammad did not even went ahead and make the purposal although Aiesha (May God be pleased with her) was his best friend's daughter. Abu Bakr (May God be pleased with him) brought that purposal. It was God's way of protecting prophet Muhammad's sayings. She became the second highest number of hadiths (prophet's sayings) after Abu Hurairah (May God be pleased with him). It was God's plan i would say. She also was one of the biggest scholars of Islam. 2)what do u say abt the way mohamad raped the wife of his adopted son? Well he did not rape her. He married his adopted son's wife after his adopted son divorced here to teach his followers that adopted son and real son are not the same. The reason prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace) did what he did is to teach his followers what to do when his followers needs guidance. He is our role model. He married a divorced woman, so we can marry a divorced woman too . He married a widow to show us that we can marry a widow too. So on and so forth.... 39how were the 3 tribes of medina decieved to truce and then killed one by one after entering the city?explain? Well that was war. Actually Jews of the Medina entered in a treaty and betrayed prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace). Later they helped Meccan pagans to fight against prophet Muhammad. A guy from one of the tribes converted to Islam and he wanted to join Army of prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace). Although Muslims were losing that time, he did not care. He was soldier of God. He was a kind of person who was trusted by the Jews, Pagans and also his tribe. Prophet told him, if he wants he may break their coalition and he did. Banu Qurayza, a Jewish tribe in Medina was involved in the treason and they surrendered to prophet Muhammad's army. Banu Qurayza requested Saad bin Muaad (May God be pleased with him) to be their judge to rule their case and as he was their friend before he accepted Islam. Saad bin Muaad (May God be pleased with him) ruled their case. It was Saad bin Muaad's decision as he was leader of one of the tribes and he was hurt on that war. 4)if all religions are the same and worship the same god ,why du u stone peoples to death (even today) for changing the faith? I would say revive the religion of your ancestors (Santana Dharma) by stopping the idol worship and accepting the teachings of the final messenger (upon whom be peace). 5)why do u always insist on telling koran the final word of god though it was written at the time of uthman ,one of the khalifs after muhamads death?? Uthman (May God be pleased with him) compiled the Qur'an. He was friend of prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace). He and other friends of Muhammad sat together after prophet's death and compiled the book. The Qur'an literally means the recitation and the book is called Musab. 6)why did muhamad put the phrase 'and muhamad is his last messenger' in the kalmaah? dont you smell the thirst for authority and some foul game?if there could be many before him ,why not after him? He did not put that himself. God put that for him. He did not even know he was a prophet till he was 40 years old. 7)what was the status of dhimmis(christians and jews ) in muslim lands till now if they wordhip the same god?u guys stole the whole philosophy and story from the and they are forbidden to build new churches, ride on horses, bear arms and lots more rules. Actually no country on earth practices Islam fully. Not even Saudi Arabia. Muslims should let people of other faith practice thier religion. There is no force in the religion of Islam. 8)why is it so that a religion which u say preaches peace always talks of kiling the others?ß what is the option for a non.muslim according to your pliagiarism book of yours?death or coversion right?? No brother. Actually Islam did not spread because of sword as potrayed by Crusades. It spread by invitation. The friends of prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace) left after his death as they knew the value of this religion. Most of them were idol worshippers and they wanted to share their experience with other human beings and spread the message of Islam to humanity. For an example, in China they went as merchants. The people were impressed by the scaling system they had, contrary to other Chinese business man. The Chinese business man went to king and complained that the foreigners were taking their business. The king called the Muslims and asked them to leave. But public stood up and said "these Muslims do not cheat us with scales and give us the right weight whereas our fellow Chinese business man cheat us." So the king had no option but to let them stay. By good actions of Muslims actually Islam spread on all the corners of the globe. During the time of Saladin, many people in Jerusalem accepted Islam was Saladin ordered not to kill them and let them practice their religion. On the other hand, Crusades killed all the Muslim when they first captured Jerusalem. 9)why do you worship the kaaba, the prophet, the book ali, husein(the shias)?well u dont use abeer and tika but adoring and respecting someone to insanity and total devotion is actually worshipping ,right? so you are polythiests too!!! We do not worship Kaaba. People who perform Hajj or Umrah circumbent Kaaba. The reason why the pilgrims do that is because prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace) did that. It's just revival of his sunnah (actions). 10)i am a hindu, i eat bef, dont wear my janai, give a sht abt jaat bhat, have slept with various women(including a turkish muslim girl;yupp she is unmarried ;u would love to stone her to death right?? ),i ve been to mandirs and worshipped stone figures only as a continuation of the tradition and i still feel i am a hindu , becoz its the law of karma and 'basudaiva kutumbakam' that makes me a hindu.can you choose stuffs that are rational and throw stuffs that are crazy from you gods own words as i do?? I was born in a Hindu family too and i used to eat beef too as i never thought cow was divine to begin with :). Well i am not a big fan of stoning woman to death. As i believe God forgives all the sin except shirk (associating others in His worship). I understand you do not want to leave Hinduism because you were born in Hindu family. Well i understand that as we have the same background. It's very hard for us to convert as our family thinks we betrayed them if we convert to Islam while they are happy if we convert to Christianity. The reason is on the back of our mind we think whatever a White man does is wonderful but we think Arabs or Muslims are bad. It's not your fault or mine. We have been raised like that. This is what Hollywood and Bollywood or the consumer society has manipulated us. Anti-Muslim begots are everywhere. Noone mentions Hindu extremists, or Christian extremists but everyone brings extremism with Islam. There are good Muslims and bad Muslims. I condemn terrorism of any act too. It's very sad to see my faith being highjacked by few wolves. I do not know if those wolves exist for real or they are just mere characters created by certain department to control people. Back in Nepal, we used to be proud that we were never ruled by British or any super power on earth but now our youth are very happy to server British Military, Singapore Police or Indian Army or where ever UN deploys them. May God guide all of us. Ameen !!! Thank you! your brother in humanity "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds!" [Bob Marley]

rethink: Would love to hear your feedbacks. Scientists tell us that the universe is expanding, and the galaxies are growing farther and farther apart. As it does so, it grows colder and colder as its energy is used up. Eventually all the stars will burn out, and all matter will collapse into dead stars and black holes. There will be no light; there will be no heat; there will be no life; only the corpses of dead stars and galaxies, ever expanding into the endless darkness and the cold recesses of space—a universe in ruins. This is not science fiction: This is really going to happen, unless God intervenes. Not only is the life of each individual person doomed; the entire human race and the whole edifice and accomplishment of human civilization is doomed. Like prisoners condemned to death, we await our unavoidable execution. There is no escape. There is no hope. And what is the consequence of this? It means that life itself becomes absurd. It means that the life we do have is without ultimate significance, value, or purpose. Let’s look at each of these. Without God there would be: 1. No Ultimate meaning of Life: If each individual person passes out of existence when he dies, then what ultimate meaning can be given to his life? Does it really matter in the end whether he ever existed at all? Sure, his life may be important relative to certain other events, but what’s the ultimate significance of any of those events? If everything is doomed to destruction, then what does it matter that you influenced anything? Ultimately it makes no difference. Mankind is thus no more significant than a swarm of mosquitoes or a barnyard of pigs, for their end is all the same. The same blind cosmic process that coughed them up in the first place will eventually swallow them all again. The contributions of the scientist to the advance of human knowledge, the researches of the doctor to alleviate pain and suffering, the efforts of the diplomat to secure peace in the world, the sacrifices of good people everywhere to better the lot of the human race—all these come to nothing. This is the horror of modern man: Because he ends in nothing, he is nothing. 2. No Ultimate Value: If life ends at the grave, then it makes no ultimate difference whether you live as a Stalin or as a Mother Teresa. Since your destiny is ultimately unrelated to your behavior, you may as well just live as you please. As the Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky put it: “If there is no immortality … then all things are permitted.” 3. No Ultimate purpose: If death stands with open arms at the end of life’s trail, then what is the goal of life? Is it all for nothing? Is there no reason for life? And what of the universe? Is it utterly pointless? If its destiny is a cold grave in the recesses of outer space, the answer must be, yes—it is pointless. There is no goal, no purpose for the universe. The litter of a dead universe will just go on expanding and expanding—forever. And what of man? Is there no purpose at all for the human race? Or will it simply peter out someday, lost in the oblivion of an indifferent universe? The English writer H. G. Wells foresaw such a prospect. In his novel The Time Machine, Wells’ time traveler journeys far into the future to discover the destiny of man. All he finds is a dead earth, except for a few lichens and moss, orbiting a gigantic red sun. The only sounds are the rush of the wind and the gentle ripple of the sea. “Beyond these lifeless sounds,” writes Wells, “the world was silent. Silent? It would be hard to convey the stillness of it. All the sounds of man, the bleating of sheep, the cries of birds, the hum of insects, the stir that makes the background of our lives—all that was over.” And so Wells’ time traveler returned.

nepaliguy1982 · Nov 26, 2013 10:47 AM

Without God there would be: First of all, whose God, your God or my God? The God that I worship is different and says things completely different then what you say. My God says live life as you wish and let me handle what happens in the future. He commands me that it is not my job to ponder. And he also says he will look after me if I enjoy life. He says I can do whatever I want and he will still be there for me no matter what. So I am a little confused brother, Whose God are you specifically talking about? Or are you implying that your God is greater than my God? Please enlighten!  I have my eyes wide open and would love to hear your opinion on this matter.  Just remember, I love my God just as much as you do. Please go on.

theoranjeboy · Nov 26, 2013 12:51 PM

THEORANJEBOY: First please tell me what your God says so i may understand what you believe. This original posting "Can there be meaning with God?" was actually between a person who believe in God and who don't. I actually wanted to have a discussion between who have a diety on one side and who do not have a diety on another side. Anyways it's okay. Since you asked me whose God. I believe there is only one God. Actually Hindu scripture says: "Ekam evadvitiyam" which means: "He is One only without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]         As you quoted: "My God says live life as you wish and let me handle what happens in the future. He commands me that it is not my job to ponder. And he also says he will look after me if I enjoy life. He says I can do whatever I want and he will still be there for me no matter what." I never said my God is better or greater than yours. Qur'an does not let me do that. After all there is only one God. "And insult not those whom they (non-muslims) worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah wrongfully without knowledge. Thus We have made fair-seeming to each people its own doings; then to their Lord is their return and He shall then inform them of all that they used to do." [Al-Qur'an 6:108]

I can't help but laugh when people literally take books written by nomads, farmers, sheep herders, and stoneage people seriously. I feel very sorry for those gullible people. If there were any evidence that those books were written by people who knew anything about science and the universe (besides the conspiracy theorists who believe in aliens), I would be darned.  Grow up you guys. Do you know they didn't know that fire was a chemical reaction until the 18th century and they believed that it was a devine thing.  Stupid people will always believe in stupid things whether it's some religious books or whether it's some political propaganda. It's a hinderance to progress and insult to all the scientists and intellectual people who put their lives on the line to prove otherwise.  BTW I'm not against spirituality or god. I just don't happen to believe in the ancient books written by nomads and cow herders.  Science = Respect, Progress!! Religion = War, Regress !! Think for yourself. Discover something new. Make the world a better place.  Don't hold on to stoneage dogmas.  See this and marvel.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

@nepaliguy, my grandfather wasn't pedophile....he got married in his 20's....

giordano · Nov 28, 2013 12:15 AM

Fountaindew: Do you happen to know why all the prophets of God were sheepherders? If you grew up in farm you would know Sheepherding needs the most patience. The reason why all of them were sheepherders is because it needs high patience and to teach people what God had revealed to them needs alot of patience too. That was boot camp or training cycle those chosen individuals had to go through. I understand you are neutral. May your spiritual journey towards the truth be a pleasant one! I just wanted to share this message to you: James A. Michener, ‘Islam: The Misunderstood Religion’ in Reader’s Digest (American Edition), May 1955, pp. 68-70: “Muhammad, the inspired man who founded Islam, was born about A.D. 570 into an Arabian tribe that worshipped idols. Orphaned at birth, he was always particularly solicitous of the poor and needy, the widow and the orphan, the slave and the downtrodden. At twenty he was already a successful businessman, and soon became director of camel caravans for a wealthy widow. When he reached twenty-five, his employer, recognizing his merit, proposed marriage. Even though she was fifteen years older, he married her, and as long as she lived, remained a devoted husband. “Like almost every major prophet before him, Muhammad fought shy of serving as the transmitter of God’s word, sensing his own inadequacy. But the angel commanded ‘Read’. So far as we know, Muhammad was unable to read or write, but he began to dictate those inspired words which would soon revolutionize a large segment of the earth: “There is one God.” “In all things Muhammad was profoundly practical. When his beloved son Ibrahim died, an eclipse occurred, and rumors of God’s personal condolence quickly arose. Whereupon Muhammad is said to have announced, ‘An eclipse is a phenomenon of nature. It is foolish to attribute such things to the death or birth of a human-being.’ “At Muhammad’s own death an attempt was made to deify him, but the man who was to become his administrative successor killed the hysteria with one of the noblest speeches in religious history: ‘If there are any among you who worshipped Muhammad, he is dead. But if it is God you worshipped, He lives forever.’”

nepaliguy1982 · Dec 1, 2013 9:55 PM

NepaliGuy1982,I see that you quote a lot of things and generalize stuffs using superlatives. What is the basis of your claim that shepherders the "most" patient than other professions? Is it based on the number of hours they spend at work? The number of sheep they attend to? Is it based on the environment they have to operate? Or did you just feel that deep inside your heart as well? Why do you assume that other professions don't need as much patience?  It's very easy to quote something. But unless you present some scientific proof or numerical data, your claim is just baloney.  BTW there's no correlation on spending time on something stupid vs patience. For you it may mean the same thing but for others it just means that the BS is not worth spending time and effort.  So next time I don't reply to your comment, don't assume that I didn't have enough patience to argue, I just don't see my time is worth replying to your baseless comments.  I don't really care what path u follow that's your personal choice. If you are happy with that, then that's good for you. But I suggest before you make a superlative claim to a group of educated individuals, be ready to back it up with some real scientific evidence. Don't just copy paste and definitely don't post something that you feel inside your heart that may or may not be true for others.

fountaindew · Dec 1, 2013 11:53 PM

Fountaindew: You mentioned: "NepaliGuy1982, I see that you quote a lot of things and generalize stuffs using superlatives. What is the basis of your claim that shepherders the "most" patient than other professions?" But you just mentioned one though Anyways, it's all good. Let me try to talk about wisdom behind prophets bein a sheepherders. I do not have corelation but i will try my best to present facts. 1. Sheep are weak animals, and much weaker than cows and camels and need more protection and care. 2. We are affected by our surrounding environment and it leaves a lasting effect on our personality. Shepherds of sheep are different than shepherds of cows and camels. Shepherds are different than cowboys and cowboys differ from shepherds of camel. This is due to their raising of different animals which has an effect on their personality. Sheep are very compassionate, merciful and weak, so the shepherd learns to become kind and merciful toward them as they are fragile animals and one cannot be too harsh toward them. The Prophets of God learned how to become compassionate toward their followers. Camels on the other hand are very arrogant animals, and one cannot be soft with a camel as it will take advantage of you. The arrogance of the camel must be met with strength as opposed to kindness and compassion. Shepherds of camel are therefore very rough, tough and may be rude, which is learned via their environment. Similarly, teachers have a different personality than doctors. Doctors tend to have a different personality than engineers. Engineers have a different personality than other skilled workers, etc.For example, being a teacher for many years, may tend to make one into a fatherly figure, as they constantly giving advice to the children they are teaching etc. This may tend to make them behave around and treat their peers in a similar fashion, eventhough they are outside the working environment, due to their constant work environment and therefore fashioning of their personality. Politicians who are constantly lying and deceptive due to their work, tend to behave in this manner outside of their working environment. The Prophets, therefore, had their personality and behaviour fashioned through their environment of herding sheep, thus reflecting this personality and behaviour toward their followers. 3. Ibn Hajar is a classical scholar who wrote the most prominent commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari. Ibn Hajar was a scholar in the field of hadith, fiqh and aqidah. Ibn Hajar states, "The wisdom behind having the Prophets as shepherds before prophethood is that they may become skilled in herding a flock, as they will be responsible for their respective nations in the future. In herding, one attains forbearance and mercy, and endures patience, for when a shepherd is obliged to gather his flock and herd it from one area to another at once, knowing the traits of all, and all the while protecting from predators, he has thus attained the skills necessary to lead the nation and protect it from its enemies, both within and abroad." "Thus the Prophets learn patience when leading their people and attained an understanding of the different natures of people. They learned to show kindness to the weak, and resolve with the dominant. The reasons for which God chose the sheeps for the Prophets as opposed to the communal cows or camels, is that they are animals which are weak and need extra guidance and attention. Sheep are more difficult to maintain as a flock because of their propensity to go astray and wander away." "This is akin to human traits within a society and it is the divine wisdom of God to train these Prophets accordingly." 4. Teaching responsibility: The shepherd is responsible for his herd and usually looks after the flock of another, that is ,they are hired and must report to who has hired them. They hold responsiblity in this regard and the responsiblity of looking after the flock, even if the flock is at fault of its own actions, be it intelligent or otherwise. The shepherd holds full responsiblity and accountability over the herd. 5. Teaching patience: Taking sheep out to graze is a slow process, as sheep are quite slow and they take thier time and one must wait until the sheep are done. The sheep may fight with one another, they may play with one another, the shepherd must wait and be patient, as he is unable to communicate with them, eg, they must get a move on and stop what they are doing. The shepherd must simply wait for the sheep and continue being patient. Day in and day out the shepherd would leave in the morning and allow the sheep to graze and simply wait for them until they were done. This teaches patience and the Prophets (peace be upon them) required much patience during da'wah and conveying the message of tawheed and al-Islam. Moses (upon whom be peace) was a shepherd for 10 yrs when he worked for the old man in Madyan and married one of his daughters. 6. Teaching protection: The shepherd protects the herd. There are various seen or unseen dangers, wolves, other beasts, diseases, etc, all of which the shepherd must consistently make sure do not endanger the herd. The Prophets of God  are very protective of their people, and they try to protect their followers from physical and psychological dangers. An example of this protection - in Madinah, at night, suddently a commotion was heard and some of the friends of prophet immediately picked up their weapons and raced to the source of the sound. To their amazement, when they arrived, they found the Prophet  Muhammad was already on his way back, telling them that everything was fine. Eventhough the sahaabah were quick and swift in arriving at the source of the commotion, prophet Muhammad (upon whom be peace) was already there before them to protect someone from his nation. Prophet Muhammad has not left any danger that would inflict us without warning us about it as a means of protecting us. 7. Teaching detection of danger: Sheep have limited sight and can only see so far. A human who stands tall has a longer view and can see danger as it is approaching, as the herd cannot. The first to notice danger is the shepherd who can give an advanced warning to the herd. The Prophets sense and detect dangers before they approach us. They have the clearest vision and the longest view, and a vantage point that none of us have. The Prophets know what is good for us, and Prophet Muhammad said, the analogy of me and you is like someone sitting next to a fire at night and you are attracted to it and jumping in it, while i am grabbing/pulling you from it, and you are trying to jump in. Prophet Muhammad sees the danger, yet we do not. Prophet Muhammad knows it is fire, yet we do not. The Prophet is inviting the people paradise, yet we are forcing themselves toward the Hell-Fire. The shepherd sees the danger and warns the herd, just as the Prophets see the danger and warn their followers. At times the shepherd may hit the sheep in order to give a clear and quick warning and ward off its current path away from the danger. There is no time for a nice and slow convincing manner to this approach when the danger is so near. Similarly, the Prophets at times would appear harsh in their words, as they cared about their followers and wanted to move them away from the ever close dangers. 8. Teaching simplicity: A shepherd is living a very simple life and cannot take all of his accessories with him to the desert. A shepherd can only carry with him some basic needs in the desert whilst doing his job, no matter how rich the shepherd may be. A shepherd will eat very simple food and have quite simple and basic accommodation. A shepherd will also become accustomed to the different environments encountered when feeding the animals, such as the cold or heat of the weather, rain, wind, etc. A shepherd must be deal with all of these situations and will be the last to take cover, after taking care of the herd. 9. Teaching closeness to the creation of God: Shepherding pulls you out of the artificial world and brings you close to nature. Living in an artificial world goes against our natural disposition, as we were created from this earth and are a part of nature. Being too far from nature results in less contemplation of the creation of God. The Quran makes many references to the creation of God such as the sun, moon, stars, heavens, mountains, rivers, oceans and plants etc. God draws our attention to His creation, as they mirror His abilities and attributes. To learn about the greatness, knowledge, wisdom and abilities of God, one only needs to look around at what He has created. A shepherd spends much of his time close to nature, which gives him an opportunity to contemplate about nature, and the Prophets of God took advantage of this time to think and reflect about the creation around them. I hope i answered your question. Sincerely, your brother in humanity

I have watched videos of Carl Sagan. Matter of fact, i am open to different ideas too. Athesim does not have anything to offer. Atheism do not have any future. Children are "born believers" in God and do not simply acquire religious beliefs through indoctrination, according to an academic. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... "Still, even the most admirable of atheists is nothing more than a moral parasite, living his life based on borrowed ethics. This is why, when pressed, the atheist will often attempt to hide his lack of conviction in his own beliefs behind some poorly formulated utilitarianism, or argue that he acts out of altruistic self-interest. But this is only post-facto rationalization, not reason or rational behavior." [Vox Day]

paulsmith · Dec 3, 2013 10:02 AM

Awesome video Paul. Loved it. Keep up the good work. I agree with you: "Atheism has no future. It has nothing to offer" There are more believers in the world than disbelievers. Whether you are Hindu, Christian, Buddhist, Jew or Muslim you have a diety. You may have differences between who is the diety and how the world was created but you all agree there was a Creator. Atheists on the other hand believe this universe was an accident, are you kidding me? Good joke my atheist friends. Nothing does not create something by an accident.

newguyintown · Dec 3, 2013 12:11 PM

n3c3ssary3vil · Dec 6, 2013 3:23 AM

Those beliefs are installed on children. But belief in God is already auto-installed when they come from mother wombs. May i know how do you anser that?

facebook123 · Dec 7, 2013 10:08 PM

installed as in brainwashed.. they are told to fear the unknown.. they are told to be good and do good not because it's morally right, rather to not anger the might one.. you claim belief in god is auto-installed.. what are you basing that information on? is there a sticker that comes with a baby saying "faith in jesus installed" or "hindu inside"  just like a sticker in new laptop that says windows 8 installed? and since you haven't asked any question that actually makes sense.. so I don't know what to answer and how to answer..

An atheist is a man who believes himself an accident.

Immigrant123 · Feb 23, 2014 7:55 AM

A lottery winner does not consider it an accident. He calls himself lucky. An athiest does not believe himself an accident. He believes in chances. Trust a religious fanatic to try to twist reality to fit his own dwindling sense of understanding reality.

In 1902, a professor asked his student whether it was God who created everythin that exists in the universe ? Student replied: Yes He again asked: what about evil ? Has God created evil also? The student got silent.... Then the student requested that may he ask a question for him? Professor allowed him to do so. He asked: Does cold exist Professor said : yes ! Dont u feel the cold dear Student said: I'm sorry but ur wrong sir. Cold is a complete absence of heat.. There is no cold, it is only an absence of heat. Student asked again: Does darkness exist ? Professor said: yes ! Student replied: ur again wrong sir. There is no such thing like darkness. Its actually the absence of light. Sir ! We always study light & heat, but not cold & darkness. Similarly, the evil does not exist. Actually it is the absence of love, faith & true belief in God. That student was Albert Einstien...!!!

sajhamitra · Jul 25, 2014 10:40 AM

Sajhamitra you probably do not know that story is a hoax. Religious fanatics use smart people like Einstein and make up stories to prove to less smart people that "look even smart scientists believe in god and you should too." The less smart people will believe them feeling helpless and out of logic to question something supposedly said by a great man, but semi-smart people will try to verify it before believing in it blindly. You can verify that this story about Einstein is a hoax http://www.snopes.com/religion...

rethink · Jul 25, 2014 10:49 AM

I second rethink's point. There are just too many false stories out there, as Abraham Lincoln once said, "Don't believe everything you read online." Now, it's actually a good story, though it wasn't Einstein who answered it. Let's analyze this. Let's assume God created goodness but nobody created evil as it doesn't exist. But why did God let absence of goodness prevail? Why, would he tolerate "not good" things happening on this children? If he is God, why can't he distribute goodness to everybody and everywhere? Why the void, which is the source of all human peril? If you tell me God exists and just shut up, then I will shut up. But don't try to bring up pseudo-logical arguments because religion defies logic as I have previously stated. I am accepting religion as is, no logic needed.

Millions of people are living meaningful lives without God. So, the answer is yes.

Power_Ranger · Jul 26, 2014 10:32 AM

religion is a waste of time and money. all of them, ours, islam, Buddhism, Christianity, all believers are brainwashed.

Stephan Hawkins · Jul 26, 2014 11:06 PM

Can there be meaning of GOD without life?

mancini · Jul 27, 2014 10:17 AM

You come to life only when your soul enters your body, then only the term "life" is given. Now, when your soul leaves your body, God still owns your soul. According to your karma, you'll take rebirth again in this earth. For e.g.. If you rape someone your someone will be raped too, if you torture someone then you will be tortured too through law of karma. Life does not end after you die, it just moves on. If your soul deserves liberation, then you'll be liberated, if not you'll be casted back again. Yes, so there is meaning of GOD without life.

highflyingeagle · Jul 28, 2014 5:39 AM

If god exists why does he let people rape, why does he let people do bad things, why does he let people kill each other? Why does he not appear in front of aethists, whip them and make them worship. Why does aethists have normal life?

mancini · Jul 28, 2014 5:51 AM

There is duality everywhere my friend, if there is black there is white, if there is good there is bad too my friend, when there is God there is Satan too my friend. Evil things are all work of Satan. Satan is clever, he tricks you to do evil things. In terms of atheists, I don't know what's wrong with them, they just don't believe in faith. Have faith my friend. If God shows up in true form like in Mahabharat, atheists will either go mad or shit his pant right there, If God shows up in avatar form, then atheists will question what is that? It's a choice of duality believe it or not.

highflyingeagle · Jul 28, 2014 6:15 AM

maGorkhe1 · Jul 28, 2014 7:15 AM

So Mr.Highflyingeagle, If tomorrow science creates life from scratch from non life, will you then believe that it's not your God that put soul in that artificial life? Also, if God created everything then he's also responsible for the creation of Satan.

Power_Ranger · Jul 28, 2014 6:42 PM

@power ranger, well God created man then if man creates a life from non life which is stem cell then God created it. Even Gandhari didn't give birth to 100 sons, that was advanced science too, just we don't have the facts left yet. How come Nasa pictures show there is a bridge between Sri lanka and India. How come Sri Lanka believes in Rawan and Hindus believe in Ram? the reason is Rawan wasn't a bad man either, he was the smartest man and the pure devotee of Shiva, but Satan touched him, he lusted after other man's wife that was Sita. He committed crime, so God had to intervene. Yes, all the demons were created from God too. That's why God has to intervene when evil goes rampant. How come a single plant doesn't grow in Kurukshetra? The answer is nuclear war. When British took over India they stole Vedas. Ever read Rig VEDa and Yajur Veda? Those years old scriptures talk about Vimanas and missiles. How come Ganesha drank milk and what happened to your science when scientists had no clue who drank milk. well it's called faith my friend. So there is duality in everything. There is a choice, either you believe or not. Living with a faith is one's choice. Anyway it's kaliyug. Satyayug ma ta Mata Parvati le 108 barsa tapasya gar era Bhagwan Shivajilai paunu bhayo, yo kaliyug ma yeuta atheist le bhagwan chain bhandaima Bhagwan dhyannga agadi aaune ta abai pakkai haina. Bhagwan yeti sasto ni chaina ni sathi. Yo janma ma ta aba astha rakhne ho ni. As I said choice is yours. search some ajit vadakayil vimanas about Vedas talking about flying saucers. as i said choice is yours.

Highflyingeagle · Jul 28, 2014 10:45 PM
