What's the issue?

ANS · Sep 2, 2013 8:53 PM

issue is I didn't even got their question.... for example * please deploy the following to all stage. -ngps*servers in support of MTP on 9/03 (CHMO14550) /pub/aug13/ngps_1.0j2ee.all.CHMO14550.03SEP13.tar - /opt/soft. any idea and how to work on it????

What else do you know about the system? If you have just joined the job they are probably looking how you are approaching the problem. There is nothing that can be done here without understanding their system and deployment procedure. Ask for documentation.

If there is nothing more to understand, I would just go to each if the stage server, then do: #cd /pub/soft #tar -xzvf /path-to-your-tar-file/tarfile Again if you really want to be Linux admin know what is actually happening here by deploying by deploying this code.

Your info is not sufficient. Looks you are supposed to uncompress/deploy following tarball -  /pub/aug13/ngps_1.0j2ee.all.CHMO14550.03SEP13.tar to following destination - /opt/soft Do that in all staging servers (ngps* servers??). --- Disclaimer - Just my guess. Do at your own risk! :)
