Hello All Sajha Mitra haru, I have been working on OPT since last august of 2012 from one Indian consult A. I am still working with the same client. But My H1B approved from another consult B (sister of consult A). After October my payroll will run from consult B. I am planning to get Visa stamped from Canada in coming December 1st or 2nd week of 2013 and after that my plan is to get married in Nepal, around January 2014. So my questions are: 1. Can I go for H1 stamping from Canada with 2 months (Oct and Nov) of payroll? Can I also include my pay stuffs from consult A? Or Shall I do my stamping from Nepal (since I will have 3-4 months of payroll till that time from consult B) 2. Will it effect on my H1 dependent’s visa interview process? Thanks, KJ Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE <w:LsdException Locked="fal

KJ You don't need to include your paystubs from your former employer since it's clear that you were on OPT while working for them. But it never hurts to carry additional docs just in case. I've few friends who took just the first month (October) paystub and had visa stamped from Canada. Personally, I'm in the same boat as yours. My H1 starts from October this year and I'm planning to go Canada sometime in November. Good luck ! Last edited: 20-Aug-13 03:22 PM

What is the benefit of going to Canada in lieu of Nepal ? Last edited: 20-Aug-13 03:50 PM

Thank you datktmguy. Really appreciate for your input. MVC: There is no benefit. The only reason I want to do stamping from Canada is I don’t want to go thro all hassle of the stamping during my 2-3 week of vacation. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE <w:LsdException Locked="fals

@mvc Going to Canada doesn't guarantee a visa stamp. Having said that, there are few perks of going there. In case you get a 221 (g), and are asked for some additional docs/PMIS verification, the process in Canada is quick compared to that in Nepal. It also helps people who don't have much vacation time or have no plans to go to Nepal. Last year my friend drove to Canada, got his visa stamped and came back in like 3 days. (It's not that quick for everyone tho)
