I travel via Inida (T3). They have a good security these days. I took couple of phones and couple of laptops. Put them in your luggage, not in your hand carry bags. Else, put one of them in your pocket and the other in your hand carry bag. You should be just fine.

no checked bags and going to nepal, how is that possible? not taking ANYTHING else??? also, is your US-INDIA-NEPAL on the same itineary or is the india-nepal separate?

@prawashi: different itinerary, as i am making a stop for few days. tyasaile sodheko, if 2 iphones okay bhanera.. customs clear garnu parne bhayera. transit mai basne bhaye ta no big deal, i know... i've taken multiple phones in the past by throwing them in my checked bags. yo patak no checked bags.. traveling very very light.

thought i would provide an update, in case someone has the same question in the future: there was no problem whatsoever. they simply don't care. unless you look like a 'arab tira gayera kamaaune jasto' person, they won't even check what goes throuh the scanner. same thing in nepal.
