Buy the factory unlock from ebay for a dollar and you won't be needing the gevey sim anymore. Just pop in your T-mobile and it should work fine. After the seller says that he unlocked the phone, you need to resintall your IOS and after the IOS update is complete, a message will says"Do you want to update your carrier setting" or something. Click yes and its unlocked for ever.  The only bad part is that you will loose your jailbreak and get stuck with latest IOS for which jailbreaking is not available atm.

Thanks Devil, I have CYDIA and this thing called furious mode. I think the furious mode works with gevy sim card. But my question is, my simcard was cut to smaller size and sits on top of gevy sim card.When factory unlocking, I have the following questions; 1)do i have to remove my sim card  while undergoing factory unlock? 2)Will I need new sim card as the current sim card was cut to smaller size and can I still use the sim card the way I am using now(i.e sim card was cut to smaller size and it sits on top of the gevy sim? 3)Do I have to remove the cydia or can just live it? I guess after factory unlock, it wont work.

I have been requested, or commanded , to send an iPhone to Nepal. What do I need to do to make sure that it works in Nepal? Will that 'eBay' solution work for now and forever? Appreciate the info. Thanks

devilwithin999: You do not need to update/restore your iPhone to the latest iOS version once you factory unlock your iPhone. Once your seller informs you that your iPhone is unlocked, just insert a non-compatible sim card and wait until your iPhone goes to activation screen. You can then connect your iPhone to iTunes and it will finalize the unlocking and you will see home screen in your iPhone. I know that many seller say you need to restore but its not true in every case. I have successfully unlocked hundreds of iPhones without restoring to latest iOS. mismas: Remove the gevey sim card from your iPhone once you do the factory unlock and follow my top instruction. You can throw that gevey sim card coz you will never need it again. If you do not use cydia, you can delete it by restoring your iPhone, you will not loose your unlock by doing so. I recommend you to upgrade to latest IOS after unlocking. Also, since you said your sim card was cut, I beleive its micro sim card now and you can continue using same sim card even after unlocking. IDK2013: The most important thing is to buy only AT&T iPhones (not Verizon or Sprint) so that you can unlock it easily for just few bucks. Yes, eBay's solution will work forever and you will never loose your unlock even after you upgrade to latest software in coming future.
