If there are any value hunters around, come forward and tell me how this company look to you. I'm planning to buy this company for 2 reasons. There will be a lot of migration to the mid west in the next couple of years.  Midewest guys - do you think it is happening around Junction City KS, Steele City KS, parts of Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma?  Please confirm.  We - the nepali gang of sajha investors can do collective research and beat the market again and again - using COMMON SENSE. Come on guys - stop the maddening investement philosophy of not knowing what you're doing and being "dumb lucky" when you win. Let's win while knowing why we won. That's the fun. Only way to do it - get the "theme" first and then the story. If you're a hunter, you just don't go to any jungle. You go to specific jungle to hunt. Same thing with investing. First find the theme and then hunts will come to you!!

I am long term guy and though I struggled during recession years, my surviving portfolio has multiplied around .5 times in the last year or so. Now days, my goal is to set up 10K per year for 2 Roth accounts I have. My recent found bets are: Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc (ACUR) and California First National (CFNB). Acura Pharmaceuticals Inc (ACUR) has good products, but is struggling in cash, so high risk but pays fairly large dividend.  Doing good news wise. California First National (CFNB) is a safe bet. Pays dividends, but does not grow as its not exchanged as much, so is less responsive to market changes. I have a full time job, and can’t look @ them all the time... no time...

Ok great - By the way, this should get more interesting than this and we're talking about what approaches that we can take in life so that we do not "lose money" - FIRST and then "make money" afterwards! So pay attention to these conversation people! And please - BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER!  I'm a full time value hunter for now. Love it! I ask all the guys who've been losing money to just close their eyes and ask them- what can go right! Here - go where the money is ! And money is not "in the news" - meaning - when something is "in the news", money has already been made and you're paying for the transportation cost of that news from the company's PR team to the website you read the news!  So, go after "shifts". There should be "shift" of something. For example, lots of Nepalese came to US and other countries as students. Who made the money there? The consulting firms that were mushroomed in the kathmandu valley? Yes and no. Yes because they all did. No because only few of them succeed more than anyone else. But it was a great business model that would remain popular and is still popular - unless and until Nepalese find better opportunties in Nepal than going outside and they have no business. Common sense! So, we need to pick such type of "scenarios.  I know there were several value guys invovled but as unfair as it seems to me - everyone wants to talk about facebook or apple while they have no idea where these companies will be 20 years from now ---while no1 wants to talk about a bank in the heart of booming north dakota- whose earning has been increasing for the last 5 quarters and they are realizing more and more that some of the asset properties that they captured from their debtors who could not pay for whatever and surrendered their land has tons of oil below it.  Invest in business that even a fool can run. So, even if the manager of the bank was a retarded and stupid person, the company would still make money for you because it is - in the right time- at the right place - and it is also on sale. By the way, in Wall Street, nobody wants to buy when things are on sale and most of them are the retails with big dreams! BNCC

Hey guys, if you find the links useful, don't forgt to email this thread link to your friends who are losing money. The way to make money is by going quiet. If any of you go ito investorshub.com then I suggest you to read this guy's expereince and thoughts on his investing career..but he does so in the pink world playing pennies. however I'm not asking you to play pennies and you should not as its like slot machile played smartly. This guy gives a lot of information on how things happen in the wall steet the way they happen and why they happen and what has he been doing to make sure he knows what he's doing. You may need to create an account to get to his thoughts.. For college students, if you ever thought of investing, time is to start now and even if you lose, you lose small than when yous start older and lose it just at the wrong time when you're due your next house payment or the car payment. All kinds of shits can happen if you don't know how to think. If you don't know how to think, you're a one-legged player in the game of ass kicking. So, that's what I feel anyway and encourage college guys to be more adventerous on your thinking horizon than your other hobbies and interests. Coz, sooner or later you'll need to develop one. Otherwise, if there are any odler people who have never lost, raise your hand and tell us what you did so special?  http://investorshub.advfn.com/...

Its like this guys, we should be looking at the value of the industry that is increasing not the company. For example, for all the people who got the visa to come to the US there were different types of people that came in different category.  Since I'm in the US, I'm giving the US of example but you can get the idea - let me know where I go wrong with my thesis on finding values of the industry rather than a company. This also means continuously monitoring different industries and its best players to see how they're being valued by Mr Market on a day to day basis.  Several ways to come to the US  1. Student Visa 2. DV 3. Dependents 4. Work 5. Travel and some more...whatever the method people use to come to the US, one thing is "certain" - as long as these people live in the US, there is more chances that they'll save more money than what they used to save back in Nepal So, that is why I'm asking all the guys in the Midwest to take this "New age of American Oil Dominance" advantage and we all Nepalese also prosper along with these oil dreams..make sense?  Facts - 1. America is becoming the Oil Superpower by 2017 - Just google  2. Candian pipe company is providng the pipes. Currently they're barganing on which route to link canda and US.  3.  Small city migration is heavily towards mid west. Check census  http://www.theatlantic.com/inf...  Find the "market makers" in the small towns and cities and states of these different states. For example, look for publicly traded banks, insurance companies, property companies, if there are agricultural companies that are publicly trading and they are from the midwest, that's potential "home run" forest turned "oil producer". We may not be surprised that the whole landscape of Mid West change in the next 5 to 10 years. If there is anyone who's studying or have interest in this topic, please share. Let's walk the american dream smartly and as a team using sajha as a platform. It does not matter who among us win the most but we should all win. That's my motto of this thread! If you like it, share with your friends and bring your ideas and comments. No question is a stupid question and I know that more than anyone. Feel free for anything.

You should encourage your kids to "like" this page. Its not about becoming a millionaire though...they put the wrong title, it's about creating values and your kids should learn this kind of things while they're growing up and so that they make wise judgments later in their life. Remember, Warren Buffett made 20 per cent or more retrun on his portfolio year after year after year after year for many many years like what 40 years...and at the age of 84, he's saying he's now wearing his safair suit and going to the jungle for the hunt of the next big elephant with his 87 year old partner named Charlie Munger. At 84 and at 87, hunting? They're hunting for the next cheap and best company and they teach you how to do that in this facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/Secre...
