For right or wrong, Baburam's stance on this has been pretty much stable. He doesn't want to reopen the old cases. Now why he didn't interfere on other instances where Nepali army is punished, don't ask me.

तँ पनि ज्यानमारा म पनि ज्यानमारा ......तै चुप मै चुप That is Baburam's policy. If they open up the war time crimes everyone will be punished. Every single party, Army, Ex King, beuracrats and even Human Rights. These people know its better not to bring up that stuff. No one will be spared they are all involved in murdering one or more during the 10 years insurgency. Now one may be responsible for more crime than the other but they all did enough to be set behind the bars for life.

I think you need to rephrase the question: What's wrong with Nepali people? We have guts to fight over a girl, we don't hesitate to kill parents/siblings for property, we start gang wars over petty reasons, we beat the crap out of doctors for trying to save our relatives' life, and the list goes on... But when it comes to countless issues of national interest like this, we're all a bunch of pu$sies because all we are good at is letting the government screw us from every single angle possible.
