Dear Sajha friends, I had been married few years back and got a daughter. Unfortunately, our marriage did not work out and ended up divorce after a couple of years later. Recently I have been married again with an another girl and living happily together. However, I would like to bring my daughter (from my ex-wife) who is 4 years old now. She has been currently staying with my parents in Nepal. She was born in Nepal and never been to US before. I am a naturalized US citizen and wanna bring my daughter to US as soon as possible.  Is it possible to apply immigrant visa for my daughter from my ex-wife? Do anyone of you have any experience or idea that might be helpful and guideline to me? I would really appreciate for your kind suggestion. Last edited: 02-Jan-13 10:27 PM

May be it involves more of the Nepalese laws than US. You may need to do "Nata Pramanit" from Nepal, legally take the custody of your daughter in Nepal, and then you can apply for immigration visa from your side to your daughter. That is what I think and speaking without any source or experience.
