I kissed her.
Her car hit a wall and I was the first person she could ask for help. Night was getting cold and I was preparing to get some sleep with a touch of vodka'n cranberry juice. Thats when the cell buzzed. Her voice was trmbling as she tried to explain what had happened. I pulled a jacket form my cupboard and ran to her rescue.
The accident wasn't as bad as I had pictured. A slight rough on the wall, a small dint on the bumper. Nothing serious. I started the engine and parked the damn machine in front of her apartment. She was relieved to know the car could still run.
She had bought the car on the same day for a dirt cheap price. One could find a camera worth more than that. Against everybody's suggestion, she bought it. Only if she had known..
"How about a cup of tea ?", I asked. I wanted to see her room.
Her room was cleaner than I had expected. Clothes shut inside the cupboard, books stacked perfectly on the table, bedsheet tightly covering the cushion-bed underneath. She poured green tea on a cup with some chinese symbols on it.
"I like green tea", I lied.
"Give me a hug", she said and put her arms round me. Damn jacket didnt let me feel the warmth. I left.
Next day her car didnt start. The battery had drained out. I, as the day before, moved in to her rescue and jump started hers with battery from my car. We went to a mechanic and made sure that the battery was recharged. I drove her back and parked the car exactly where I had parked it yesterday.
"I'd love to have green tea", I said.
-----------------------------
I pushed the door hard from inside to make sure it locked with a click. The room was dirtier than yesterday's but wasnt in any bad shape. She put green tea in front of me . Same cup.
I could see her taking off her jacket. I was in for a big thing.
Without a note she put her arms round me. I couldnt feel contour of bra on her back. Perhaps she was using string held cups.
Then I kissed her and thanked the car, the wall and the battery.
