Masters in Nursing for RN with H-4 visa status

Hi guys,

It seems like to get an admission to most of MSN programs after RN requires at least 1 year of clinical experience, except most of online degrees. To get experience, you need to work, and there is no work permit for H-4 dependent. If I try volunteering, does the hospital provides me sth saying my work were as like as RN to count as clinical experience? I am in dilemma.

I believe most of RN with similar visa status may have gone through the similar issue. Can you please suggest whether it is a good idea to get to these online universities to get masters degree in Nursing? I am still not feeling that confident on online colleges and their reliabilities. Also, any better suggestions than joining volunteering?

I am trying to apply for hospitals, just in case if they want to sponsor H-1B, which I highly doubt.

I will not have a work permit for at least a year, can’t apply TPS as I just came last year.

From:Houston, TX

Thanks in advance
