By reading all the comments, clearly the majority here want to stay in the US. But not everyone has to do the same. Returning to Nepal is a good decision if that is what you want to do.

I visit Nepal every year and in contrary to what the majority feels, I have always enjoyed visiting Nepal, every time a little more than the previous visit. Even if it has not been better than 20 year ago (which I disagree), it has not been worse either.

How well will be your experience depends upon what your priorities are. It also depends on your financial situation. If living with/close to your parents, having social interactions with friends and family on a regular basis, and celebrating holidays is your priority, I think you will enjoy it.

It helps if you are financially independent, which means that you do not necessarily have to earn income to survive. That leaves you with a lot of options regarding what you want to do for rest of your life. If you need to depend on a regular job for income, you may need to try more than one job before you can settle. Moreover, you may have to lower your expectations and adjust to the Nepali work culture.

But trust me, going to Nepal is not a bad decision. I have never changed my mind regarding my decision that I will go back one day. It has been more than a decade already, but now I even have a return date on my calendar. I do love the US and I wish I could stay at both places at the same time, but that is not possible and I will go back in a few years. Happiness is a myth and pursuing happiness by changing your circumstances will only disappoint you. But, if you have a positive attitude, you can live anywhere. Good luck! Don't forget to share your experience.
