Malls were phenomenon of 1960s to about early 2000s and they served their purpose very well for about 4 decades. They were in a long term and steady decline ever since as technology and attitudes of consumers changed. This long term decline is much wider and deeper than just an American thing.

45 probably has no clue that USPS is one of those few
government agencies explicitly authorized by the United States
Constitution to which he cannot say "You are fired" and its gone like he
does with his cabinet secretaries every other week.
