PRINCESS HIMANI SHAH –The Nepali Kohinoor:Repaying Revolt with Divinely Love

Himani- JPEG

The Crown Princess Himaniji’s’ beauty & charm, her glamour, or saundariye as we call it, needs no introduction. There is hardly anyone connected to South Asia who won’t know; there are hardly enough words to explicitly define it.

However, one greatness of the Princessji that deserves equal admiration and enlightenment, is her humbleness; her attachment to the grassroots. She is absolutely committed towards helping the needy and the under-privileged. A Royal trotting the rocky mountains and slippery valleys of the world’s highest nation, were never heard of before.

To reach out to those who are in dire need of help, is not every Royal’s (or Government minister’s) cake. But for our dear Princess, it appears to be her daily bread.

It must be noted that whilst the current state of the country’s centuries-old monarch’s ruins were, to an extent, self-inflicted (none hers though), it was eventually the people’s power that (controversially) uprooted it from the country’s governance. Yet, the Princessji has unselfishly continued to serve those very people who robbed her of her title of “HRH the Crown princess”.

She is repaying their aggression and injustice, with her humility and love.

Instead of revolting against those who revolted against her rights, she has ensured that she would raise above them all- both the commons and the Royals, and serve them with as much affection, as that expected from someone worthy of the Crown.

Her humbleness could be attributed to the loving and caring home of her father, Rao Raja Bikram Singh of Sikar as well as the love, respect and affection from our Maharaja and Maharani.   But then there are hardly any princes or princesses, who aren’t brought up this way.

The difference is that whilst most Royal heirs get spoilt with the riches, and the glamour & publicity that goes with it, Nepal’s beautiful Crown Princess has kept her feet firmly on the ground and among her subjects.

She has been the pillar on which hopes of the poor and needy have rested.

She has been the pillar on which the underprivileged have continued to dream of good times. It may be the opportune time she was installed the pillar to stabilize the current shaky political foundation of Nepal.

Her allure and charm has traveled far and wide.

It has traveled deep into the Nepali hearts. Now, the Crown beckons its Kohinoor to take its seat.
