Grocery store owners, can you please share the steps required to open a successful NepaliIndian grocery store in a big city like LA or New York or SF or Houston?

1. What kind of location is good...
2. How much space is needed sell goods and remain break even after all the expenses..@$3000 in base rent @ 1000 sq ft..Can you have a very small Nepali/Indian grocery shop @ only 500sq ft or you need at least  ...  XYZ sq feet space to be able to sell all kind of things and break even.
3. How much is good rent? At what rent you do not suggest do business. Is $3 per sq ft per month is good in very good foot traffic location with no Parking? 1000 sq ft @$3 would be $3000 just to the landlord..
4. What is the average margin per month..Is it 30%, 35% 40% or above 40% on average...?

5. If your Rent is $3000 per month for 1000 SQ ft of space, how much do you need to sell to break even...Let's say you have $500 more for insurance and other expenses...And you work alone...

And...for a space that is 1000 sq ft...how much $$ would you spend on inventory display as you open your today for business..

6. Any other suggestion would be highly appreciated like...what to looking for when choosing your vendor for goods that you want to sell...

7. Is there any other thing you need to to make sure...

If you would like to add anything further, please feel free. Hoping that someone will respond.
