in Nepal.. though the polygraph test helps police to investigate in some serious crimes and even said its 92% successful. I hv personally heard and talked to the personals who perform polygraph jobs in nepal. and they r well aware of the fact that it cant be accurate or can mislead. so what they do is they don't decide or come up to final decision on basis of the polygraph. Poly graph technology is very new to Nepal n nepal police provided by US n trained by US personnels.
Police include the polygraph report just as helping n supporting documents in any case, which helps as a guideline to further investigate and to gain psychological advantage over the victim or criminal, which helps them to break the ice. & I m aware about some such cases where the polygraph helped police for psychological gain leading to solving the case.
Matter fact the polygraph isnot legally accepted as a proof in any case in Nepal jurisdiction systems.
we should not be so quick to judge the nepal police following some outrageous n less knowledge social media peoples. Police know what they are doing, n havenot come to any conclusion. the investigation is still under going n they also know that everybody has eye on them.
