Jun 1, 2016- A leopard that entered a private house compound in Kuleshwor height, Kathmandu on Wednesday morning after jumping from another adjoining house has been subdued by forest officials.
 
The big cat was confined inside a house belonging to Chhetra Bahadur Shrestha, according to DSP Hem Bahadur Thapa, chief of Kalimati Police Circle.

 
A technical team from the Central Zoo from Jawalakhel along with authorities from the District Forest Office, Kathmandu, and police personnel reached the scene and tranquilised the big cat.
 
“We got the information about the signting of a leopard inside a house at around 7 am.  The leopard had been moving from one house to another and is now hiding under some shade inside the compound,” he said.  “We asked the people to stay at a secure distance.”
 
Earlier, a leopard was spotted inside a house at Kirtipur on January 22. The house owner had informed police after the leopard entered the house. Another leopard was spotted at New Baneshwor on January 9. A team of veterinarian from Jawalakhel Zoo had taken the leopard under control and transported it to the zoo.
