yes, it's sad. and devastating. and it reflects on the HUGE differences between the east and west coasts, and middle america. as unknown pointed out, it's these conservative, religious, christian fundamentalists that are keeping america rightwing. and it's not just the president, it's also the house and senate. what bothers me the most is the hypocrisy of the bush administration. how, in a country partially founded on the principle of separation between church and state, they go about preaching their rightwing christian rhetoric and waving the bible, all the while condemning muslim fundamentalists!?! how can you lead a country as diverse as this one while preaching your paricular faith to the masses?!
