the beauty of this thread is not only in its length, but a lot of this stuff is really funny! and we have stayed focused on the two issues most of the time- only in america and only in nepal. other threads go all over the place. bedrock, i like your good observations regarding bad television. your mention of "sagarmatha tv" brought this one to mind- only in nepal do people call sagarmatha "sagarmatha" andolan, i like yours too, but only in nepal people don't vote at all, because no one can reach a goddam compromise!
