Going Nepal for Good ???

Job Search
- There are IT companies, banks, tourism industry, etc. but I don't have good info with regards to job search. Googling gives few results. Idk how they recruit for private sector over there, other than word of mouth.

Banking
- Nepal, especially Kathmandu, has adequate banking services, including multinational banks.

Building House
- According to what I've heard, due to the recent earthquake, the government has put some kind of cease on passing new housing blueprint. Again, please confirm.

Maintaining House
- Not clear about that.
You can install solar water heater on a roof;
water, and electricity are still a problem.
Perhaps you can install good battery backup system for your home.
Depending on an area, you may get regular tap water, if not you can buy tanker water. Another option is the ground water pumping.
for regular maintenence of a house, you can get supplies in local "convenient store." I would assume that pretty much anything is available in big department stores there.

Raising kids
- You probably know it already that there is no free education in nepal, unless I guess you send your kids to a government school. There are many private schools in kathmandu, cost may be your deciding factor. There is even international standard school/s.
Also if you've brothers/sisters who have kids then one good thing is that your kids will have good family environment (of course this all depends on individuals), given there are so many festivals and holidays in Nepal.

Health
- Again there are good hospitals in Kathmandu, and cost will be your deciding factor. Nepal has international eye hospital in Kathmandu. Some of the Nepali doctors are well known for their work.
I don't think there's any strong EPA presence in Nepal so expect some air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution.

Having said all that, you can change things that are not right. You can utilize your personal experience, education, knowledge, etc. to ease life not only for yourself and your family but to others as well. (I've thought about several projects)

--edit - meant international standard eye hospital
