Most have benefited from a dog and he put dog as a part of ritual in Depaawali. We hit and bit them but once in a day we take care of them and open the door to haven. I and you may have seen /heard children not taking care of their parents while they were alive , when they pass away we stay  13 days in hardship faking ourselves.
