NAS you should change your eating pattern, calories gained from dinner may be stored in your body.
If you are trying to eat fewer calories manage same way. You need protein to work all day long, therefore take good amount of healthy breakfast. Take light dinner again does not skip lunch. Brain and body will function according to your daily food intake habit. Take small portion of food than eating one heavy meal because it will store in your body.

Skipping meal may cause you gastric and similar issues. Just drinking water will not calm down the acid formation in our stomach, it needs proper food. I know you are aware of this; you need to practice a healthy eating habit.
