I am really confuse why you are goin to quit h1b. In my thinking you should keep TPS as a backup and work on h1b.I guess h1b is the big deal for everybody if selected.Even myself will be on h1b status from october first.And i have filed tps .Ead is already approved.

So All,
dont worry about anything wheather you are on f1, h1, b1...just apply tps. You have to do something from your side too for another status.And i will suggest never depend on tps totally...try to get some diff status at this period.THis is great oppournity and chance for everybody.Once i will get all the update....i will post all things from begining to end of my ststus.Currently i am bg like a hell.Today got the chance to see all your guys post.Keep eye on my post.
