Summers are nice and winters are dreadful (but not as dreadful as in Buffalo, NY).

You can actually go for fishing and catch salmon or lake trout or many other game fish (and eat them too) in rivers and streams right in the middle of the city. Such a thing is near to impossible in other cities of this size anywhere around the world.
