Like kalidas said..if your resume includes clients and you use your consultancy as your employer for all previous experience... You should be fine. BG usually means criminal BG check. And depending on company..internal placement can be very smooth...
You get call from HR saying your manager has recommended you for position... Salary range..benefits. (If you need h1 transfer, this is the time to talk about it)
You fill out official application(formality).
HR offers you position... You give verbal acceptance.
They do BG/reference check etc...
They Send you written offer with discussed salary and benefits. (One suggestion...Don't try too hard on salary)
You are all set!

Dont worry about resume mismatch. They have different process to hire temp and ft. Your manager may not even see your resume this time. HR does everything. Just to be on safe side use the same resume that you sent a year ago with current job addition.
