I went some of the meetings, and found that most of the people involved are not only immigrants but also people with odd jobs who are not well informed on the financial planning business. The sessions are held in a way that this is the best money-making business in the entire US. With benefit of doubt, I enrolled in one of their plans, passed licensing exams but in a less than a month gave up realizing that this was not my forte. This is a sales job like any other insurance agency business. Benefits are overrated because the people who are explaining them are half educated. Remember that adage - Little knowledge is dangerous. The whole thing goes similar way. Most of professional jobs have basic life insurance coverage and 401k plan provided by employer and this doesn't really add value to their retirement goals. It's better to invest in additional IRA Roth account. There is no magic here; I recommend that you stay away from this business.
