I have not read all the posts. But DP's got a point. Giving the choice to mom and/or dad means that you are taking the choice away from the baby. But then again, how would you really know that the child wants to be born. Abortion is acceptable if it is saving the mom's life. But just coz the mom and/or dad is unable to give the child a good care/family/environment does not give them the right to abort. If, as according to some posters, if you can't afford to give a quality life to the child, then don't bring the child to the world. IF the same theory applies to born babies, would you just kill them because you cannot afford a good family for him/her? If you go back to the root of the problem, then - use contraceptives. If for any reason you made a mistake, then don't kill the baby-- it's not the baby's mistake.!!
